In a press conference during his visit to Saudi Arabia, President Obama talked up the idea of keeping the US military presence in Iraq, which continues to grow, deployed in the country for the long term, citing the country’s instability as proof that America needs to be more involved.
Iraq’s parliament is in a state of crisis over the past week, with a proposed cabinet leading to fist-fights on the parliament’s floor and the sacking of the speaker. Since then, Iraq’s parliament has not successfully had a single session.
Obama called on Iraq to immediately finalize a new cabinet so they could focus on the war, and suggested that increases in US funding for the Iraqi government were to be based heavily on Iraq’s ability to get a new cabinet in place.
Obama concluded by saying that he believes Prime Minister Hayder Abadi is a “good partner” for the US, but that he is concerned Abadi’s hold on power in Iraq isn’t as strong as it should be.
The USA has never had any intention of leaving Iraq. Even when the “official War” was over there were multiple US bases across the country.
They needed deash to churn the ground so the US war crimes could not be uncovered.
Actually, they needed ISIS (so they helped create and continue to fund/supply them, indirectly, of course) in order to justify and expand their presence in the ME. As for the evidence of US war crimes, they’re out in the open for everyone to plainly see – and have been since before the Iraq Invasion in 2003.
U.S. Perpetual failed wars to support the MIC leading to one disaster after another. And on and on it goes.
its a failed state dontcha know
Why did the criminals get rid of Saddam if we’re now looking for a strong “hold on power” in Iraq?
Hubris.
Obama’s name should be submitted for the Nobel Peace Prize !
“Mission Accomplished!”
Just never said exactly WHAT that ‘mission’ was?
A. A Rothschild Bank?
B. Endless war?
C. Stop Saddam from pegging Iraqi oil to the Euro?
D. All of the above?
If you chose D, then you’re probably not an American – or you are – and are paying attention.
“No boots on the ground in Iraq”
Sounds an awful lot like:
“No boots on the ground in Syria”
“If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor”
“People who say the American economy is weak are peddling fiction”
Same BS, same puppet douchenozzle…
American troops in Iraq are likely to get attacked by both sides. They really haven’t thought this through.
Iraq will regret it’s entanglement with the USA.
(as will all of Europe).
