The first confirmation came shortly after 3 AM on Sunday morning Geneva time, when French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius announced that the P5+1 talks with Iran had concluded, and an interim deal has been reached on Iran’s civilian nuclear program. Other P5+1 leaders, including President Obama, have since confirmed it.
Full details of the final pact are still not a matter of public record, but are said to include a halt of 20 percent enrichment, continue enrichment at 3.5 percent, and $4.2 billion in Iranian assets will be unfrozen, along with unspecified easing to sanctions. Comments throughout the pact few weeks suggested that most of the deal was already finalized, and it was only a few minor issues of wording that had yet to be settled.
Interestingly, Iran and the US are disputing what the pact says about Iran’s right to enrich uranium for civilian purposes, as Iran insists theĀ deal does grant that right, but the White House has claimed it does not.
The Saturday talks never ended, but continued overnight into Sunday before the pact was reached. It is intended to cover six months, involving some limitations to Iran’s civilian enrichment of uranium and other aspects of its program in return for sanctions relief.
The six months is intended to give both sides time to work out a permanent agreement on ending the sanctions as well as international complaints about the nuclear program.
Nuttyyahoo must be chewing on the carpet and indulging himself in a rant and rave session right about now. Once he's recovered some composure, he'll head to the balcony to address the faithful about how Greater Israel isn't going to take this peace deal lying down. Nosiree! It'll be time to mobilize the military, rattle the saber, and get AIPAC into serious business with getting those lazy good-for-nothing Congresspeople in DC off their duffs and doing what they're paid to do – look out for Israel's interests. Who do Americans think they are, going off and making a deal without being told to do so by Nuttyyahoo?
No, he's chewing on the furniture and peeing on the carpet, like the rabid dog that he is.
It's time to start rounding up all those AIPACers and send them to internment camps, prior to deporting them to Israel. They love the rat hole so much, put 'em on ships and let 'em eat sand.
How loving and peaceful.
Normally I don't like posts making cheap jokes with foreign leader names, but I just had to +1 this hilarious and perfect rant, bravo.
Hopefully the Congresspeople will remember the anger of their actual constituents over Syria and stop banging the war drums.
I think we have to gives some of the credit to Putin. If he hadn't called Netanyahu to Russia and read him 'the riot act' the Nut would still be bribing Congress to force Obama into another fruitless war.
There is Peace on the horizon once they can muzzle the warmongers
Putin's contributions to world peace are extraordinary. It's a shame that he is the victim of a relentless Western propaganda campaign.
Oh, I don't think "bribing Congress" has stopped. And I'd be surprised if the attempt to get the US to fight another war for Israel has been curtailed. More likely it has been stepped up – and more money will flow from Israel to Congress (after coming from the US to begin with, of course.)
Yes, Nobel Peace Price to Snowden and Putin!
Hi Lydia! Good to see you over here on an actual anti-war site instead of the pro-regime (and pro-regime change for non-US quislings) progressive Raw Story.
At one point or other, people get tired of being bullied and pushed around. That would seem to be true here to the extent that this outcome certainly isn't the result of Israeli and Lobby pressure on the United States government. The fainest ray of light concerning ownership of American Middle East policy would seem to have emerged Suspect Netanyahu's regular criticisms of Obama during last years election campaign might have chaffed a bit. Obama's policy making is exquisitely responsive to campaign donor's interests otherwise.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif says Iran and the world powers have finally agreed on a long-awaited deal on Tehran’s nuclear energy program, after days of intense talks in Geneva.

I am pleased to hear this news. However, we need to keep a close eye on the Nut in Tel Aviv. Hopefully, he will just stomp and shout and stick more pins in his Ayatollah Khameini doll and not completly go off with a blame Iran false flag attack somewhere.
How soon before Obama and the USG renege on the deal to lift sanctions?
Whatever the Iranians agree to — will not be enough for the Powers who seek regime change in Iran and replacement of the current Government with a "puppet" government controlled by USG.
Exactly. Unfortunately, the sanctions are acts of Congress. And Congress has let it be known that they are not really interested in lifting sanctions against Iran. So, it's going to be interesting to see how this plays out.
Congress will go along. It has no other choice.
Dow will climb at least 100 points and S&P another 20 on Monday.
It is ironic that those who stand to gain the most financially might be those who pushed for a war. Let us see what AIPAC has to say now?
If Bush/Israel and the 'coalition of the dummies' can unilaterally declare war on the ME resulting the death and mutilation of millions why can't Obama declare a unilateral ME Peace, starting with Iran who has repeatedly said it is for a Nuke free ME.
Toss the Netanyahu crazies and their Congress collaborators and give the US taxpayers and their $$$ a well deserved break.
Great. Didn't think Obama was serious about going through with it.
Time to give Netanyahu the "full coronary" by convening the UN to discuss creation of a Palestinian State.
Now the OTHER rogue Nuclear power of the region ISRAEL!
Unlike Iran, Israel never signed the nuclear non-proliferation treaty. It therefore cannot be considered a nuclear rogue state.
Not to be contrary, but…Israel is indeed a nuclear state (though they still decline to acknowledge what everyone else in the world knows) and according to Merriam-Webster they meet many of the definitions of a rogue. But make no mistake, Israel is a dangerous player led by highly-strung personalities who insist on constantly playing the victim.
Two bulls cannot reign in one pasture, doesn't matter how many female cows is in that pasture, one have to be the dominant male. Netanyahu realized that only Iran is standing in his way for him to achieved total dominance over the middle east, and he will do everything in his power to demonized Iran…..reminds me of a guy I read about……Adolf Hitler.
an MLK moment,,,,,free at last thank God we are free at last.
Wow, there's a teeny tiny glimmer of hope. Bibi is not going to like this news.
yhvh is great!
Iran, Western Powers Reach Deal in Geneva
I resent the Headline tremendously!
P5+1 are United States, Russia, China, United Kingdom, and France, plus Germany.
You successfully excluded my country, Russia, and China for getting credits for their contributions toward the reaching this historical agreement
Russian President Vladimir Putin is a statesman, a leader of his people and a real man. Sadly as an American I cannot say the same for Barack Obama, president of the western province of Greater Israel.
Congrats to Obama, Kerry, and Rouhani…..keep up the great work!
This deal became possible when Israel nuked Syria, once on the night of 4/5 may 2013 15 miles outside of Damascus and the other around the first week of August near Olms.

Nuclear Strike on Syria – , August 7th, 2013
I've only seen nuclear explosions on video.
However, I've sen explosions like the on in that "nuclear strike" video in real life, and suffice it to say that none of them were nuclear.
Any actual evidence for your claim other than a video of a typical large explosion debris cloud?
It could have been a type of fuel/air explosion, not nuclear. And any radioactive fallout would be hard to conceal.
The sticking point on the right-to-enrich fits the pattern e.g. that we saw with the Syria hype…e.g. WH can-if-it-wants, but we'll-be-nice-and-ask-congress. WH likes to put on airs and behave as if it's above basic standards such as constitutionality, international law, analytical rigor, burden of proof, appropriate apologies, keeping it's word, etc. Suppressing acknowledgement of the right-to-enrich is likely a NutjobYahoo-Redline, but it's got some cover under the general strutting mode of the WH.
NutjobYahoo would not have been surprised here, and he may be satisfied with the WH performance if it preserves the future claim that it never specifically consented to this-rights-biz. This could be significant in future propaganda if USraeli power doesn't decline internationally as far or as fast as it rightfully would after the last 11 years or so. You already see them gloat that this nuclear-pretense harassment of Iran has been an 'international' effort ('concern'); lingo Jason even slipped into above ('international complaints').
Soon enough you could see this apparent step-forward spun as a we-did-all-we-could schtick as the US destroys itself turning Iran into Iraq. The capacity to frame mass murder that way is one utility of the iterated Make-You-An-Offer-You-Can't-Accept in conjunction with a 'compliant' press.
…when Israel nukes Austin, and Television blames Iran…
The "deal' raises plenty of opportunity for the west to raise false flags, same as we have seen recently in Syria. Already the two sides are disputing the interpretations of the pact. I doubt very much if the US is a genuine party. The deal is part of a much wider show still to unfold.
The so called 'deal' offers plenty of opportunity for the US to raise false flags. The game is not over yet by a long shot. Israel's AIPEC grip on the US Congress is too powerful and the compliant corporate press will have no difficulty to manufacture consent for the false flags.
