Doubts remain over whether the Israeli Iron Dome missile defense system actually works, and Israel’s military had repeatedly dubbed it cost-ineffective enough that they wouldn’t pay for it in their budget.
The House Armed Services Committee is more than willing to keep bankrolling the system, however, and announced funding to the tune of another $488 million this year in funding.
The approval still has to go through the House Appropriations Committee and the Senate before it is finalized, but this seems merely academic, as such votes are always overwhelmingly supportive of additional aid.
The $488 million is an addition to over $3 billion in military aid the US is already planning to send to Israel in the coming fiscal year. Despite the budget crunch, officials say they will maintain the Israel subsidies.

It sounds like you are equating the US and those who sit in Congress. That would be wrong. The Congress has given up representing the interests of the American people, and Duh!?!?, sold out to a foreign sovereign nation whose interests are not entirely in line with the interests of the American people.
Financing Israel to the teeth has come to be part of the natural, god-given order the U.S. imposes on the world. But who laughs last, not the U.S. people, oh no: revile enlarged health care coverage for the uninsured and poor of the country while sending gobs of cash to a country with a single payer system, where everyone is entitled – never forget the heinous concept of entitlements – to health care. The U.S.'s payments to Israel free up that country's own wealth to finance its health care system. Isn't this something we might rightly see as an indirect subsidy of single payer in Israel? The U.S. people still can't see on which side their bread is buttered after all the abuse they've been through. This might not be a libertarian point of view.
Another example of putting Israel first. To call for cuts in social security and other domestic programs that at least redistribute wealth to other Americans while at the same time increasing aid to Israel is a disgrace.

I demand that none of my US taxes go to increase the funding of Israeli militarism. How can I best convey this opinion to my government. Why aren't there any polls asking the public if they support increasing funding of Zionism in Israel when Americans are going through a serious belt-tightening time. Proof in point that many people on this forum are simply out against Israel because they hate Jews. Should US aid be cut? Yes. All foreign aid should be cut. But don't single Israel out. Include all countries.
But surely we can start with the rogue nuclear states that constantly attack and bomb their neighbors. Surely we can start with countries that detain people for years. Surely we can start with states that engage in torture. Surely we can start with states that assassinate people. Shouldn't a state like that be the first place where we stop sending out tax dollars when we are being told at the same time that we can't afford to help any non-banker Americans?
