AIPAC has issued an official statement of “thanks” to President Obama and the Congressional leadership, praising them for “unshakeable” commitment to pro-Israel policies, saying they have “deepened America’s support for Israel in difficult times.”
Such statements are rare, particularly in election years, but reflect a growing focus on Israel ahead of the election, with both parties trying to shore up the public perception of an Israeli endorsement.
Mitt Romney has accused Obama of anti-Israel positions during the campaign, saying he “threw Israel under the bus” by criticizing their illegal settlement expansion. Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D – FL) claimed the Israeli ambassador had told her the Republicans were a “threat to Israeli interests.”
While shilling for Israel is something of an election-year tradition in the US, even Israeli political leaders are taking notice of the excessive amount of talk this time, accusing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of “meddling” in the election as Netanyahu appeared on CNN over the weekend, urging American voters to elect someone who would attack Iran.
What happened? Have AIPAC people given up on loser Romney?
AIPAC now knows Romney is a loser so they will be stuck with Obama, time to start sucking up and cozying up to Obama.

It does indeed look like the Lobby woke up and smelled the loser. Of course, it's not as though there was ever really *that* much "daylight" between Obama and the Lobby. In fact, there's a good chance that the otherwise warmongering administration's foot-dragging over the Iran War is merely pre-election political theater. If Obama were really serious about averting war, he'd engage diplomatically with Tehran. He has instead been consistently belligerent, rejecting Iranian and third-party overtures and going straight to work with the sanctions stick without offering so much as a carrot. This is a policy the Lobby can work with. A war in 2013—no matter which party is in charge—remains a distinct possibility.
I can't wait to see how the Romney campaign spins this one…Got to be a real reality check for Romney when the most powerful Israeli lobby – to use Romney's words – "throws HIM under the bus!!!"
I know that these people are brilliant. I know that these people are wealthy and money hungry. I know that these people have infiltrated the US Congress with dual citizens whose allegiance is mainly to Israel. But they contitute only 2.5% of the American population, at most. Why can't the majority of Americans get off their duffs and make sure that they don't have a say as if they were the majority.
Someone at AIPAC suddenly realized the consequences of making the President of the US a personal political enemy. Perhaps this hit harder because they also suddenly realized he will be re-elected despite the outrages of their PM, who can't even get face time with Obama now even when they are in the same town.
Was there ever any doubt that Romney was the designated loser? I knew from when the GOP started ramming this fool down our throats that he was another McCain or Kerry. Just to keep sheep thinking that they have a choice.
Obomber now has the official seal of approval from the masters.
Sure wish me, my friends and family (all broke-ass working Americans) mattered as much to these American politicians as does Israel and it's lot.
It's mindbogling that such a proud and powerfull nation as the US is so subordinately is dancing to the tunes of a small, insignificant country situated somewhere at the eastern end of the Mediterranen Sea.
It is political theater to begin with, while the US in the past year has bombed numerous countries, and is invading Africa, destroyed Libya, and is supporting rebel al Qaeda overthrowing Syria. Libya was sovereign nationalist and was going to go with a gold backed Libyan currency. Anathema to these criminals.
