At least 15 people were killed today in a new flurry of US drone strikes against Pakistani tribal areas. The first strike killed seven people in South Waziristan, while a second strike killed another eight in North Waziristan.
The strikes were the first in nearly a month, an atypical lapse that has fueled reports that the detained CIA spy and US ‘consulate worker’ Raymond Davis, who police say was captured with GPS tracking devices on him, played a key role in the strikes.
As is always the case in such strikes, Pakistani officials immediately termed everyone slain in the strike a “suspect,” but provided no indications to suggest that any of the slain were “high value” targets, nor indeed any indication that they were militants at all, beyond the fact that missiles hit their homes.
Such strikes have killed over a thousand people in the last two years, but only a trivial number of them have ever been conclusively tied with militant factions, and the vast majority of them appear to have been simply innocent tribesmen.
Ya, south Waziristani’s were ready to invade the USA at any moment… Good grief, what a waste of tax dollars and lives.
The problem is that the submarines needed for AfPak have been delayed.
Suspects? Uhh Huh
Let me clarify: They were suspected of being alive. Now they are suspected of being dead.
Why is it that the Pakistanis worry so much about 2 killed in Lahore by a 'suspected' CIA agent but don't worry at all about over a thousand killed in Waziristan by 'suspected' CIA drones?
Why would we think they don't? I am sure they do; it's just that the perpetrator is not at hand.
Another US soldier died in Helmand on Saturday the 19th of February, the second US soldier to die there in two days and the fourth this month. This is after a US general said the Taliban had been pushed out to the fringes and the US was in control.
In Panama City the US killed about 6,000 unarmed civilians in 1989 according to Ramsey Clark. Fallujah is worse than Hiroshima. Drone strikes and night raids killing lots of innocent civilians. Recently I spent three months in the lovely village Risaralda in the coffee region in Colombia. On the plane from Bogotá to Paris an American sitting next to me said, "It´s necessary to kill a lot of people". I told him, "Bloody, crazy Pentagon and CIA. The real terrorists are in Washington." Of course, he didn´t agree. But Dr. Goebbels would have been proud.

Keep it up and you're gonna give Seymour Hirsh a run for the title "best ever" investigative reporter
Come on people.., look at it like this.., Generals are Generals, they get paid to be just that, their uniform is their god and their churches dispersed all over the world, they can pray or s.h.i.t on everything just by pointing at it, they have invisible and visible power which one of it is to say things like: “They killing their own children to make us look bad“, but from their heart what they really say is this: we are not here to kill you, just bomb your homes, your village and city and your country if we could.., and if later we see you on the street wondering what just happen to your house, we will consider you as combatant enemy and kill you, but that’s different, we don’t do that.., killing and burning children is not our orders but what might have happened is that your children are just being out and playing just under our bombes.., that’s all they need to say proving that they are a lunatics, paranoid, a psychopath, and by far they are a liar.
