Few things are more predictable than Israeli officials taking time out of their busy schedule to complain about Iran, with Prime Minister Naftali Bennett going in hard in condemning Iran’s nuclear talks lately.
Those talks are making progress expected to result in a deal, however, and likely anticipating a new salvo of Israeli comments, the State Department is criticizing Bennett’s comments, saying that coordination would be the best way to achieve their mutual goals.
Officials say they are in contact with Israel on a daily basis, consulting on the process. Israeli officials are playing up the idea that the deal is regionally dangerous.
US interest would be in Israel keeping its mouth shut on the matter, when Israel has made harping on about Iran the core of its public narrative, and seems unlikely to be even grudgingly accepting of the recovery of the deal.
is uncle sam finally starting to ‘grow a sac’ re: israel, and if so is that because of Biden ?
certainly no republican POTUS would ever ‘grow a sac’ re: israel.
Actually, George H W Bush actually DID, holding up Israhell’s welfare payments until they stopped expanding their squatters, er, “settlements”.
Last president I can recall to say, Nuh-uh, Israel.
And he went from a 90% approval rating to losing the presidency in a very short period of time. Although his approval rating was such because of his brutal destruction of Iraq so maybe that was waning. But still, I believe his standing up to Israel was partly instrumental in him losing to Clinton.
That and the fact that his campaign manager, Mary Matalin, was dating Clinton’s campaign manager, James Serpent Head Carvill.
I did not know that. And good one with “serpent head”.
News to me ass well and Yes! Very good one there Mary ;))) Serpent Head….Almost choked on my coffee with that one!
Yeah, I remember all the cutesy interviews with the two explaining how they “leave the politics out of the bedroom.” Major puke material.
I always thought so too, Wars.
i don’t remember that but good for him if so
Man bites dog.
Meanwhile, 41 lawmakers make an AIPAC sponsored trip to kiss that same ass.

What Happened…?! US grew some Balls…?!
Israel has an age old habit of playing the geopolitical victim, in fact, they have mastered the part…Israel does have some valid concerns, though, which are understandable. This is new territory… However, a deal with Iran, under these circumstances, is better for Israel (…), than to not have a deal. Deals are agreements which must be adhered to, or there is a geopolitical cost. The US seems to be playing it straight forward and it would be in Israel’s interest to observe quietly and allow the US to do its job to get the deal done and firmly in place. Not having a deal is geopolitically dangerous. Israel should recognize that. Iran’s not going to give up its nukes (anymore than Israel would give up theirs…) The nuclear genie is out of the box and we all have to learn to live with it, including Israel. We have learned to live with Israel’s nuclear posture, now they must learn to live with Iran’s… This is the real world…
What “nukes” is Iran not going to give up?
I doubt the US is playing anything straight forward. And since Iran has no nukes or even a program to get any, the entire charade has been a farce for the last twenty years. That Iran even had to negotiate the JCPOA in the first place was an imposition on Iran, and these current talks are just more of the same. The entire “Iran nukes” story was as made up as the “Russian invasion” story.
We have every right to reject anything and everything Israel has to say on the matter of Iranian nuclear power, given their own undeclared arsenal and complete lack of oversight from any inspection or verification program. When Israel signs on to the very same program they insist Iran submit to, then- and only then- should they get credentials to speak at all.
Well said, John!
Yes, but that just makes too much sense.
