House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said Monday that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine warrants the “strongest possible military response” and that the US shouldn’t be deterred by warnings from Russia.
Pelosi made the comments from Poland a day after a trip to Ukraine, where she met with Ukrainian President Voldymr Zelensky in Kyiv. The House speaker received a warm reception from Zelensky, who presented her with the Order of Princess Olga, a Ukrainian civil decoration presented to women who make contributions to the Ukrainian state.
On Monday, Pelosi held a meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda in Warsaw to discuss the US and NATO’s increasing support for Ukraine. Poland has emerged as one of Europe’s strongest supporters of Ukraine and recently sent over 200 Soviet-designed T-72 tanks to the Ukrainians in an escalation of NATO military aid.
On top of the military response, Pelosi said the “strongest sanctions” are also necessary “to make the case” that Russia’s war was not tolerable. “We shouldn’t do anything less because of a threat from Russia,” she said.
The US military response to the war has involved pouring weapons into Ukraine, providing Ukrainians with intelligence to target Russian troops, and training Ukrainian forces on how to use US weapons. President Biden has repeatedly ruled out sending troops to Ukraine to fight Russia directly over the risks of starting World War III, which could quickly spiral into nuclear war.
But despite the risks, ultra-hawks in Washington are eyeing ways to get the US directly involved. Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) has introduced a bill for a new Authorization for the Use of Military Force (AUMF) that would give President Biden war powers to intervene in Ukraine if Russia uses chemical, biological, or nuclear weapons.

Don’t you just love those ‘peace’ loving democrats?… If the US and allies jump into this pickle, it will turn into a potential World War… Chemical, biological or nuclear weapons?… I bet there are some pretty twisted tickets sitting around, rubbing their hands together, eagerly, as if they cannot wait to make this happen…
Pelosi wants to destroy the Ukraine.
The Aging Mafia Princess has an agenda all right.
It’s called Zionism!!!
I certainly hope Zionism isn’t the only cause of this war.
A major group of losers in this conflict seem to be Russian Jewish plutocrats. They at least want peace. Without spending 10 minutes writing out a post no one will read, it looks to me like Zionists are split as a result. Bill Kristol and his sort want the empire to crush Russia, but the resulting losers who reside in Russia want peace and less attention on their business. So, divided really.
So now pelosi works for the Russians? Ignorant comment.
It certainly does appear that the Russians want to protect Ukrainians versus Pelosi who wants as much senseless slaughter of Ukrainians as possible.
A majority of Ukrainans agree since they voted for neutrality and implementing UNSC 2022.
Ukrainians don’t seem to generally want Russians in Ukraine though. They want peace, however.
There’s so much propaganda there. Who knows what they want?
At least 50,000 Ukrainians are fighting alongside the 125,000 Russians against the Kiev regime. That’s a big tell
From the breakaway regions? They’re basically a separate state or part of Russia now. Ukraine seems to have long been divided, but just from what I’ve seen they don’t seem to want Russians there.
However, individuals who’ve been attacked or endangered by Ukraine might have come to want Russia’s rescue. Ukraine’s government is bad. So, support could have shifted to Russia.
Anyway, it’s tough for me to know.
Depending how one counts between 7 to 9 million Ukrainians want Russian peacekeepers to stay and end the 8 year civil war.
I expect he could easily hold the areas he has already taken. And doing so might end the fighting. He’s now being pulled to Moldova. The US wants to bleed Russia if it can. Maybe Ukrainians are involved trying to trigger a NATO war. Apparently, the way it goes is Moldova can merge with another state to bring in NATO…
I dunno what percent of Ukrainians support what, because polls are tricky. Russia definitely has some support, but Ukrainians have been hit with years of propaganda. So, even though most Ukrainians are obviously not Satanist and likely not Bandera supporters, the few neutral videos that got out before showed a general dislike for the invasion. However, maybe it’s dangerous to openly support it.
No, she wants to destroy Russia. Ukraine doesn’t matter to her one way or another.
I would say that is a lot closer to the truth, weaken Russia, the amount of weakening is up to the Russians leave now, it stops now. Stick around bleed some more their choice.
I don’t think Russia can leave. It’ll probably take the entire coast; then, who knows what happens?
Putin would lose support if he just left as you’re hoping, and many Russians see Ukraine as a security threat. Russia isn’t losing as you seem to believe. They just don’t have the manpower to occupy all of Ukraine.
Suck to be Putin, here he is thinking he is going to die of cancer, but instead it looks like maybe a cup of tea. So Ukraine has almost unlimited support in terms of material from the West, Ukraine is mobilizing more troops, the Ukrainians don’t have to maintain the fiction that this is some minor issue. Poots on the other hand is hoping for a costless victory, that is over didn’t work and he has no plan B. Right now it is stalemated maybe some Rus advances at great cost and some Uk advances at great cost. However the equipment situation for Uk is steadily improving and I don’t think that is the case on the Russian side.
Ukrainians can’t get the weapons in. Russia has no issue with equipment. They’re limited by people. Russia lacks soldiers. You’re not getting good info.
Anyway, it’s all well and good to cheer on some war or other, but I just want the US out. I have the same position on every war: US out.
I care about the US border…
I like Putin for certain reasons and dislike him for certain reasons. I believe Russia will have troubles with all the Muslims it has. But I don’t live in Russia. Maybe there’s info there I dunno about. Christians and Muslims tend to fight, so does the third group. All three want to be on top, just how those 3 religions are.
US isn’t in, some weapons shipments, some training in 3rd countries. Maybe a few friendly phone calls when they guess where the general is but that is about it.
US is sending a lot of weapons. It could drop sanctions, tell NATO to stay out, and tell Zelensky to reach a permanent peace deal, accept lost territory or at least reach a ceasefire. Zelensky could be told Ukraine will never join NATO.
The US could also move nukes further away, exit NATO, tell Finland and Sweden to not enter, etc.
You don’t seem to understand how the US works. Russia is likely similar. The US floods foreign polities with money, gets involved otherwise, generally acts as if it is in charge. If the US wanted, this war would be over, would have never begun.
After the 2014 coup, the US has had a significant role in Ukraine, and they’ve been attacking the breakaway areas. If Serbia had invaded Kosovo recently, the US would jump in. Kosovo is no different, legally, from Donetsk or whatever the latest name. Putin is playing by US rules.
Did you notice the US recently labeled India as “far right”?
By seeking global control, the US is pressuring India, China, Russia (which is in a sense tiny compared with them), and everyone else to seek super polities which can resist.
It’s a bad influence on the world, in my view. The US gives China beneficial trade while poking it, threatening it. It’s like stoking a fire. India is similar.
The US also tried to kill Erdogan in the past.
Being run by a religious whacko populist loon.
The US was fine with Modi until he went neutral on Ukraine. Erdogan is seen as fine provided he’s working against Iran, Syria, Russia, Armenia, and such.
Yeah, the US was so “fine” with him that it made him the only person on the planet who was banned from entering the US under the International Religious Freedom Act, a designation that was begrudgingly changed only once he finally became India’s ruler.
So, let’s say the Russians leave today. Then what happens? You said you were “sympathetic” towards Russia for her concerns about NATO encroachment. And now with Finland and Sweden clamoring to join NATO, will Russia leaving Ukraine today make the future look brighter?? You keep talking as if history started on Feb. 25th and all Russia’s concerns about their security, ( legitimate, even according to you at one time) seemingly just go away.
Yep well that sympathy ended when Ukraine was invaded. Also it is kind of a bistable reaction because now I go back through the last 10 years and look at all that has happened in a different light, the assassinations, the suppression of free speech, the incursions into Ukrainian territory.
It’s obvious the US got exactly what it wanted with their provocations towards Russia since 2014. You’re now remembering the two years prior but 2014 and on are no longer in your memory bank because of the invasion. And the NATO encroachment that’s been happening since the cold war ended? Poof, also gone because of the invasion. The war in Ukraine and the “weakening” of Russia was the goal. The fact Austin openly admitted to that makes it obvious. And now Sweden and Finland joining NATO will only exacerbate the situation even further. So, the inevitable happening made you a neocon cheerleader. Gotcha.
Guess work. Order of Princess Olga: Maybe, the mindreaders or Pelosi biographers (Hello C-SPAN) will record her giving it to her granddaughter so she call imagine the ‘prestige’ of being a Disney fantasy Princess. Negotiated Settlement/ Врегулювання шляхом переговорів for the Slavic peoples, is wisdom in any language.
I doubt she cares about Russia either. Her interests are with her sponsors and what she believes will make her stock portfolio go up.
Pelosi says she didn’t want to destroy these places – but she sure as heck did. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/bf6d4105e7923e1d7294d78e5c153b988404531abb2ad70d9c9adf5ee95e779b.jpg
Not actually the artillery and systems we are providing to them can drop a shell in a trash can at 10 miles. Those shells are going to end up exploding very near to Russian troops. As composed to the city wide area bombardment tactics the Russian are employing.
Was any of that left in Afghanistan?
Dunno some stuff that was too much bother to bring back was left if it was in US hands it was rendered useless. The stuff the Afghanis had is now owned by the Taliban. The value is way way less than the 85billion headline as that was the sum total of all the equipment and all the training over 20 years. Plus a big chunk of their air force took off to a 3rd country. The Taliban has neither the inclination nor the logistical capability to bring any of this stuff to bear on the Russians.
Ukraine is the clear loser in this conflict, which is why I hope these “right wing” Ukrainians are mostly led by frauds.
Imagine if Russia finishes taking whatever it wants and insists on peace. If Ukraine insists on fighting, Russia might start leveling everything to remove the threat.
This isn’t going to end well.
You can be thankful that the republicans aren’t in power, they want to adopt much stronger measurements against the orcs.
“the orcs”? LOL Neocon lover bacon shilling for the mass murderer Zelensky again, because his beloved teevee tells him to do so. The little conformist said nothing when thousands of people in pro-democracy Donbass were being slaughtered and hundreds of thousands driven from their homes by the coup-installed regime’s artillery and snipers.
Keep loving your mass murderers, little kid. I’d tell you to think and look at facts but you aren’t capable of doing that, poor dear.
Can you point to any UN report that verifies your claim about Donbass??
Otherwise kiddo, go to bed.
You have school tomorrow.
They all just assume they own the votes of people like me. They’re going to be surprised if they don’t quit the pro-war stuff. I don’t like mass immigration, but I’m dead if we get nuclear war.
“But despite the risks, ultra-hawks in Washington are eyeing ways to get the US directly involved. Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) has introduced a bill for a new Authorization for the Use of Military Force (AUMF) that would give President Biden war powers to intervene in Ukraine if Russia uses chemical, biological, or nuclear weapons.”
Yes, if we could only get rid of the democrats.
The expansionism of US imperialism has to lead to nuclear war. It is inevitable. Our only chance of survival is a decisive Russian victory in Ukraine.
“Our only chance of survival is a decisive Russian victory in Ukraine.”
So we’re screwed, then?
Everybody underestimated Putin when he went into Syria. Honestly, I don’t know how he can win in Ukraine, but the biggest mistake always is to underestimate your opponent.
Well it certainly doesn’t, that is on Pootin. I would hope that we won’t shoot first. Bad news is there have been several instances in history were nuclear war has been prevented by the decision of one man ignoring his orders. We don’t need people getting nervous. Clearly if we really think Poots is going to do it, I mean really really then we would first strike him hoping to get out of it with only a hair mussing.
Hopefully you never have any political influence in the US.
It’s always the Yanks that shoot first, but they won’t have the last shot.
We know many people want depopulation in the world. So, I fear MAD could one day not be the deterrent we see it as today.
Did NaNa meet Kolomiosky? Zelensky’s boss and financier?
Today is the anniversary of the tragedy in the city of Odessa. On May 2, 2014, people defending their right to speak Russian gathered near the Trade Union building in Odessa.
At that time, a large number of neo-Nazis from the Western and Central regions of Ukraine arrived in Odessa to prevent pro-Russian demonstrations in the Russian-speaking city. Ukrainian Nazis attacked peaceful protesters.
None of the victims had weapons. The Nazi crowd armed with Molotov cocktails, firearms, and cold weapons, spurred on by their leaders, took the building into a tight ring and set it on fire.
People who attempted to escape, jumped out of windows or ran out of the building, were beaten to death or shot.
Then the Ukrainian Nazis broke into the building and tortured the survivors. On this day, 48 civilians were killed by the Nazis, including 7 women one of whom was pregnant. A total of 220 people turned to hospitals that day for help.
“Progressive Western society” shrug the tragedy in Odessa off. The names of many Ukrainian nazis involved in this tragedy are widely known. They openly boasted of the crimes they had committed, and in the most brutal details. So far, none of them have been detained or convicted by the Ukrainian authorities. Some of them are currently in the Rada.
The Odessa tragedy more than any other action is what guaranteed that a civil war broke out in the east. Immediately Crimea held a plebiscite and seceded from Ukraine and eventually were annexed by Russia.
Oh the Neo Nazi rhetoric. Any Ukrainian that is not pro Russian is a Nazi. How convenient.
That’s your reply to that comment? No refuting that tragedy? You know sometimes your standard reply doesn’t apply and it makes you look foolish.
I know, only your replies are the relevant ones.
Don bacon or “don julio,” whatever name she hides under, hates facts and is too lazy to read them. They get in the way of the hatred whipped up by the media.
For future reference, here is the story about the massacre:
The coupsters in Ukraine bussed in thugs to Odessa, who attacked a protest camp and killed 46 people in May 2014, 42 of them in a burning building where they took refuge. Those who jumped out the windows were attacked. Police stood by and did nothing.
The fire brigade refused to come, only arriving 30 minutes later, despite being only 400 meters away.
An intercepted phone call revealed the pro-coup mayor talking to the leader of the attackers, telling him how to go from the vicinity of the sports stadium to the pro-democracy site, and how to reach it.
The few cases brought to court were derailed, and a number of judges recused themselves after receiving threats.
Ukraine’s coup regime claimed the murdered protesters were “controlled by Russia”. This was all over the regime media. On May 3, the day after, workers removed all physical evidence from the site. The police didn’t cordon off the site but allowed the public to walk into it, so that all physical evidence was destroyed.
The coupsters flooded social media with pictures of burning corpses that they joked about, talking about “barbecue”.
This galvanized resistance to the coup regime. Some of the survivors went to Donbass to join those who fought back. People in Russia volunteered to fight to save Donbass, which was already under attack. The attacks increased in scale. Civil war broke out, which has continued until Russia now finally put a stop to the attacks.
“It” is a troll. Ignore.
Paid Trolls type for living. You are the one with 42K comments.
No, paid trolls keep changing their names and comment on just one issue at a time with the new name … sound familiar?
Really, Have I changed my name or is it that you just can’t read full names?
Why do you always focus on foreign wars and never on the US border? Go home to Russia; fight your battle there. You don’t care about America.
The articles here are mainly about wars and geopolitics, Not border related. The border war is on FoxNews.com. Russia is a great country, been there many times as well as in Belarus but I will probably get arrested the second I land there for the mere reason I’m American who served in the military.
It is a foreign policy site, but the border actually affects America. If the US stayed out elsewhere, we’d be better off.
There’s not really a need for the defence department, most of it anyway. No need for the security apparatus. The US doesn’t even defend its own border, because the elite don’t see themselves as American.
If the US exited NATO, Germany would spend heavily on its military. If the US exited from Japan, Japan would change or break its constitution and start arming. They could then negotiate with Russia and China a regional order that works for them.
It’s wasted US money. We shouldn’t pay any foreign aid, shouldn’t fund any foreign elections, shouldn’t be involved at all. No foreign bases. It’s all waste, all against US interests.
We’ve been captured both by a profit motive and by a managerial elite. Intel agencies seem actively involved in the US, not only overseas. It’s costly, and it shouldn’t exist.
RT.com. Great source.
Get EDUCATED. Nazi members self-identify and prove themselves in action. They are feared.
Look no further than AP report from Kharkov where these groups are part of security. They target people for being pro-Russian, get into their homes, grab the scaref poor souls not to be seen again. They have been brutal to population in Mariupol. They act as concentration camp guards — accusing Ukrainians of bring traitors and Russian saboteurs.
The support for those Nazis comes only from Catholic Western Ukraine. They control Kiev.
The rest of the population, Christian Orthodox Ukrainians, Russians, Greeks, Bulgarians, Armenians and Georgians — voted for Zelenski who promised peace with Russia by settling Dinbas criisiis and returning the region back to Ukraine in line with Minsk Agreement. Over 70% voted for him to bring peace. West Ukraine DID not vote for him.
Stick with known facts. With so many fabrications it is very important to determine where the truth lies.
But with Nazis — it is not complicated. They west uniforms, they say unspeakeble things, they do unspeakable things.
It will be hard to mix tbem up witn Ukrainian people.
I’m hoping they turn out to be fakes, CIA, ISIS, Antifa or something.
Hillary is into “spirit cooking,” and apparently the “Nazis” are also into it. Maybe they’re all the same.
Update: Also, the Afghan “bacha bazi” US allies seem similar. Nina Byzantina posted on twitter that the second in command of Azov sounds like he’s not a native speaker of Russian.
What an idiot you are, little “don bacon” now posting under another handle. Those bussed in to the city WERE nazists. So stop lying.
I think the nazi thing is sexually linked for them.
They seem so obsessed with it, it clearly turns them on…
I well recall that day…😪
It was the Ukrainian version of the November Pogrom (Kristallnacht) of Nazi Germany. The Ukrainian Nazi scum responsible for the massacre are well known, yet none has been prosecuted by the Kyiv regime. The nationalist Kyiv regime has thus encouraged Nazi violence in the Maidan Republic.
I hope the Russians liberate Odessa soon and never ever give it back.
Russia showing clear ‘casualty aversion’, as troops forced to retreat from Kharkiv
A Ukrainian counter-offensive pushed Russian forces 25 miles east of Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second largest city, US officials said on Monday night.
They also said Russian gains in Donbas had been “minimal at best” and “quite frankly anaemic”, and Vladimir Putin’s troops appeared to be displaying a risk aversion to casualties.
A senior US defence official said: “They were hoping to get Kharkiv and hold it.”
The official added that in areas of Donbas they were “moving in and then declaring victory, and then withdrawing their troops only to let the Ukrainians take it back.
“There’s a casualty aversion that we continue to see by the Russians now.”
The official said Russian advances in the Donbas were “very cautious, very tepid”.
He said about 70 of the 90 155mm howitzers promised to Ukraine had now been delivered, along with tens of thousands of rounds, and training for Ukrainian soldiers.
Some of Moscow’s most elite units, including its Airborne Forces, have suffered the highest levels of attrition in the first 68 days of the conflict while one quarter of Russia’s forces used in the invasion was now “combat ineffective”.
The Kremlin has committed over 120 battalion tactical groups, each numbering between 600 to 1,000 soldiers, to Ukraine, which amounts to about 65 per cent of Russia’s entire ground combat strength, according to the report.
The Ministry of Defence said it would “probably take years for Russia to reconstitute these forces”
According to a few Putin Lovers here, most of that equipment has been destroyed by the Russians. Lol
There are a lot of hardcore Putin lovers here indeed.
Their understanding of the reality is so warped that they must have been thoroughly brainwashed over a very, very long time.
The Don and Don echo chamber.
I am not a Putin lover. I am not a NATO lover. I have developed a strong dislike for what my country has become.
Ok, that’s fair.
Putin made a big mistake with the vaccines but so did the US.
I just want the US border closed. I believe you hate America; so, you should just go to Ukraine and fight for what you care about.
I don’t hate the US, absolutely not.
And I agree, you have an immigration problem.
There is a huge gap between disliking someone and believing you need to kill them.
Are you talking about the Ukrainians?
They are blowing up their own equipment, it is part of the plan, a massive fake invasion complete with massive losses of men and equipment just to fool NATO for reasons that are too subtle to explain here.
I laughed too. What a load of hooey. It was funny.
The Ghost of Kharkiv?
You stated “The Kremlin has committed over 120 battalion tactical groups, each numbering between 600 to 1,000 soldiers.”
So Moscow has liberated 20% of Ukraine with 72,00-120,000 troops?
You do understand that is not even 10% of their contract military.
All that is required is for Moscow to attrition NATO in Donbass. Moscow is slowly but surely bleeding out NATO troops, equipment and money their. Currently they are absolutely decimating the NATO proxy army in the Donbass. Keep in mind that these proxy troops are battle hardened and totally incorporated into NATO standards and equipment. If i was NATO i would look at the Donbass and PANIC.
Don Julio is supporting the people who did this https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/5b0eaf092821d5805c370398097628d8c7786fa1b012549c710136a7fb5b13ba.jpg
Vooch, please explain photo?
US troops torturing Iraqi prisoners during the Iraq war.
They were civilians being tortured
Sure, the funniest quote from one of those guys was “This is my second time in this prison, once under Saddam and once under the Americans, at least with Saddam I knew why I was here”. It is also a little sad.
Thank you John
US military torture chamber of horrors – deemed perfectly legal and reasonable by the Pentagon, Congress, and legacy Media.

Hmmm… looks like a few parts are missing 😉
Thanks for confirming you are a delusional ignorant.
So, you believe the Iraq War was a mistake?
Yes. I do.
You still believe these liars ? https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/a06796efa2c3130f0a25b7f85b81c355300930c4f74a9bf401c6e237ba1739cc.jpg
I don’t know what drugs you are on, but for your reference:
“by August 2021 Shoygu claimed that the Russian army had around 170 BTGs”
“Moscow is slowly but surely bleeding out NATO troops”
Not even the Kremlin says that there are NATO troops in Ukraine, but I guess you know better than the Russian leadership.
After all, they seem rather incompetent.
“If i was NATO i would look at the Donbass and PANIC”
NATO has indeed been caught by surprise of how the Ukrainians not only have held the line against the Russian army, but also counter-attacked and driven them back on several occasions.
Russia is about halfway there. They have the southern coast to Crimea for their land bridge. They have most of Luhansk. Push the Ukrainians a little further north in Donetsk and then take Odessa to connect with their supporters in Moldova. That’d be a massive victory. Game over for them. From then on they can play defense and call the invasion off. Not sure how long the rest will take but the Ukranians are losing ground.
Unfortunately, there is not much difference between Republicans and Democrats on foreign policy. Too many people in both parties want us to intervene in places where we do not belong.
It doesn’t matter if a
catUS politican is blackRepublican, Libertarian or whiteDemocrat, Socialist, so long as it catches micethey vote for peace/de-escalation. I am Antiwar. The ProWar camp are ProDestruction interventionists. Since they are going to intervene, its important how they do it. “Billions in Weapons, Zero Negotiations, Reveal Real US Agenda in Ukraine article by Walt Zlotow (April 29th) deserves reading so we take ‘fortune’ out of the equation with action. Representative(?) Pelosi’s East Europe jaunt to recieve a token is a photo-op.
War is a leading cause of poverty and imbalance in the world.
There’s not much point in working hard, accumulating capital if it’s just destroyed a bit later.
Yep hyperinflation in the US and an out of control southern border but Pelosi has to grandstand in front of the thug Zelensky.
Please Russia eliminate Zelensky ASAP.
And then what? Peace?
No war when the money runs out. War without end until then.
Unless Elon Musk buying twitter changes things, or Panquake.
They don’t even care about the US if their funds can just continue to flow.
So what is on Nancy’s mind? Does she want to supply Kiev with nukes?
Nancy: you need a psychiatrist more than your plastic surgeon.
Nanc is nearing her expiration date so why should she care about planet earth? I’m wondering if she brings an interpreter with her. One that also sounds like he/she has a mouthful of rocks when he/she speaks.
Does she always talk that way? It was like she was really cold … or on various drugs.
I didn’t hear what she said or what she sounded like on her visit to Ukraine. I was going by what she has sounded like for several years although I avoid listening to her as much as possible. She’s 82. I remember when my grandmothers were 82. For some reason I couldn’t picture them being the speaker of the house. Maybe their houses on Thanksgiving, but not the house of representatives. But I will be accused of ageism if I say this old broken down witch should be nowhere near any position of power. So I won’t say it. ; – )
Her husband is a millionaire. She has lived in luxury for a long, long time. A less stressful life is a longer life. Also, she is no progressive. She could easily switch parties
trump switched parties. he was a dyed in the wool democrat pro abortion wanna-be hippie. he used to sniff around Madonna back in the day trying to get him some. her body-guards had to threaten his life before he would leave her alone. then he woke up one day, realized he enjoys his tax-cuts for the rich and suddenly he was a dyed in wool republican. didn’t take long for him to adopt that red-hat.
The Republicans who supported Trump didn’t vote for tax cuts. We voted for eating the rich, protecting trade, closing the border, ending the war, ending the security state, reducing the government, etc.
If anyone at all actually wanted to help the poor in the US, and nearly every “progressive” wants to exterminate the poor, they’d quit trying to skim off government projects and just pay UBI directly.
The only point of big government projects to “help the poor” is to profit, to not have to work.
More likely Trump saw which direction he could go in to build followers and which party he could penetrate more easily. A lot of Trump backers weren’t particularly conservative either, just fed up in general.
I probably want to tax the rich more than you do. I just don’t want to enslave Americans under a managerial elite as some “better” alternative.
What would truly be better is subsidiarity and a large middle class.
Big corporations are managerial. Small businesses are conservative.
Net worth is $135 million … so, yeah, pretty well off.
She’s no conservative, that’s for sure.
What is it with us electing all these old folks? I mean, nothing against older people, we’ll all get there if we’re lucky. My dad is 81 and still reasonably sharp. But he’s not the man he used to be at 50 or 60 … there’s a loss of vigor and patience and perseverance.
Besides, lets let a new generation ruin things for a change.
More like “reelecting”. She was in her 40’s in ’87. Term limits immediately come to mind. And I know old people that are sharp also. There are old folks commenting here that are very sharp. But I’m reasonably sure they don’t think they are presidential, or even congressperson, material at this stage of life. Those still in power think they are immune from aging and refuse to give up that power. I mean, we could be electing our next president based on how they do on a senility test and the supporters of each will still vote for one of them.
Gonna remake an old quote: What if they held a war and Washington didn’t show up?
Washington has been there, done that.
When she met with darling Zelenski, did he “play” the piano for her and did she allow him to fondle her implants.
Oooooh, I got a visual on that one……
There’s some video of Zelensky getting stepped on by a girl. He’s into feet. He’s in a lot of very creepy videos…
The “strongest possible military response” would obviously be a nuclear attack on Russia. At what point does reality catch up to Pelosi’s rhetoric? And Kinzinger’s bill should be called the “Stage a False Flag and Get Into a Nuclear War with Russia Act of 2022”. We really may be on the verge of paying for electing one babbling sociopath after the next.
Like the WMD lie, or the Syrian chemical weapon lie. Or, just make up some other lie. Caitlin Johnson said this about propaganda: everyone is anti war until the propaganda starts. Listening to the radio, watching “journalism” on TV, I cannot believe the rhetoric. “Progressive” stations are in the show too.
I posted a comment last week on that article, and I reposted it on the RT reprint yesterday but they took it down, maybe it didn’t agree with their propaganda. And yeah, war hysteria is a popular multiparty meme. The less hysterical seem to be satisfied with “weakening Russia”, which I suppose means killing a significant number of Russian soldiers. I expect Putin gets a significant bump from this. On the plus side, my basement is about half the footprint of my house.
How many weapons manufactures have contributed to Pelosi’s career? Inquiring minds want to know.
She’s talking nukes!
Yes. It’s a version of all options being “on the table”.
Lets hope she didn’t mean the strongest possible military response.
There is of course a limit to this collective western anti Russia racist attack, a major backfire of you will.
If we kill as many of “them” off as we possibly can by Nazi proxies, which is the stated goal apart from grabbing Russia’s riches for free as was the goal by any previous attempt to invade Russia and if we use a false flag nuke as war queen Nudelman was threatening the other week , they might just have enough of it and finish some of us off in retaliation. Some of the staunchest US yapping lapdog like the English f.ex who is going to send more weapons than anybody else for that reason.
Russian TV yesterday showed exactly what would happen if the English Isles got hit by a “son of S-tan” Sarmat missile or a Poseidon torpedo detonated from the depths of the sea causing a major record tsunami that would wipe them off the map….
You assume any of these “Brits” would mind if that happened. In a managerial state, anyone can be on top. And it’s largely only the people on top who count.
Really old people are really brave about wars they will never have to fight in
They dunno what year it is. The US used to be vastly stronger than anyone, vastly richer, etc. And nukes didn’t used to be as strong as they are today.
I remember McGovern saying he was tired of old men making wars for young men to die in. It had more oomph back then because young Americans were dying.
Yes by getting rid of “the draft” legislators were able to make war more palatable to the
Zelensky and his staff were laughing at these Congressional clowns.
Flat refusal to listen and refusal of diplomacy is how the US instigated this war.
Don’t believe me about that, the Pope just said it too.
That story is all over the web. The current narrative of Wash. and NATO is crumbling and the MSM is scrambling with articles which dis the Pope for his stand!
I just now did my part in the comments section. Kept it clean.
Why are the MSM, Wash. and the war industry all for this war to become WWIII? BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL LINKED TOGETHER IN THE STOCK MARKET!! It’s all about money, resources and greed. Avarice (greed) is one of the 7 Deadly Sins, and nobody knows how many will die due to this sin which is driving the world to destruction. Then after that, who benefits? The cockroaches. Keith Richards will probably the only human survivor?
Well if Keith survives, the other raison(Mick)should too.
Pelosi is effectively insane.
I think there was a lot of Blue Screening going on. Russia controls the airspace around Kiev. Nancy’s trip would have had to have been coordinated with the Russians to avoid being shot down. She didn’t drive in since that would be half a day in and half a day out from Poland.
Flight tracking sites and analysts I watch suggest this meeting took place in Poland.
Another senile old fool who has no clue what she’s talking about. As Andrei Martyanov says, this is the consistent condition of most western so-called “leaders”.
