10 hours of talks between Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov ended today with no deal in place, saying they made only incremental progress on a deal for cooperation in their respective wars in Syria, and no deal is imminent.
The talks both centered on the possibility of a 48-hour ceasefire in Aleppo to allow more humanitarian aid into the area and weeks of efforts to come up with some sort of deal on joint military operations against the Nusra Front, though the US seems to be souring on that idea.
Kerry insisted that the US “don’t want to have a deal for the sake of the deal,” and only wants something that leads to a political solution in Syria. In previous instances, this has meant the US going back to demanding unconditional regime change and nothing being agreed to.
Both sides insisted after the failed talks that they would continue to “hash out details” on a pact, though with little US interest in going after Nusra Front anymore, and Turkey’s invasion adding to the already complicated war, the odds of a final pact coming any time soon seem pretty remote.

Well, now that Al Qaeda/Al Nusra has changed its name to The Good Guys, why would our Government wish them any ill will. After all, 9/11 is ancient history and the Threat of the Day is ISIS, so let’s just look forward and not back. That allows us to avoid getting bogged down in guilt about torturing folks and other minor war crimes. What a sweet country we have, now that nobody remembers anything.
I plus voted you but they won’t accept my vote . I bet ISIS has closer to a thousand different names all with the same goal of sharia law and Islam domination . You would not believe they think our memories are so short .No wonder Brexit and Russia refuses to join the new world order .
No wonder Trump too
Seems they can do anything they want . they changed the classification of KLA terrorists to freedom fighters And Orthodox Christians to guilty of committing genocide in the Balkans , because they objected to having their heads chopped off .
Israel wouldn’t allow any cooperation, eh?
We only want the deal if we get everything we want and the other side gets nothing they want.
Russia doesn’t want to lose the only base it has stationed in the middle East in Syria that’s why it’s there for all you New World Order conspiracy geeks…If Assad is defeated they’re goes Russia’s influence in the region…Simple as that…as for the Chinese they’re pissed the U.S just set up 5 bases in the Phillipines and are selling defensive and maritime equipment to it’s smaller neighbors in the region that China’s trying to bully out of there mineral rights fishing rights etc .. in the South China Sea and it’s mad the U.S has let Japan ratify it’s constitution to now be able to sell military hardware to allied countries and go from a pacifists nation to one that can one come to the aid of an allied country if it is attacked…as I’ve stated before the USA will defend freedom anywhere in the world for all the people who yearn for it…Why do you think Obama first sitting U.S president will be in Laos this week??? Now you know…
The main reason we can not work with Putin is that Putin is not ready to go along with the New World Orders Putin said that he and Russia might be willing to go along with the world order if everything had not already been decided . But the way things look today under agenda 21 who can count Russia and probably China out of your global plans .
sorry for the misprint he insinuated you can count Russia out . This indicated to me Russia would also like to have some say so on the plans . Seems to me I hate people making plans for me that effect my future too . So I have to side with Russia again on this too . .
Well on August 25th, 2016 China will provide Syrian military with ‘medical training’
China says it will provide the Syrian military with “medical and nursing professional training,” urging a political solution to the conflict in the Arab country. In an apparent move in support of the Syrian government, the Chinese Defense Ministry announced Thursday that the military will provide training for Syrian armed forces on Chinese soil.
