The Truth Hurts: US Says New WikiLeaks Release ‘Most Damaging’ Yet
State Dept Data Reveals Dirty Dealings the World Over
Nothing is more damaging to US foreign policy than the truth. So at least confirm a number of top US officials today in declaring the newest WikiLeaks release, a collection of State Department cables from across the globe, “the most damaging yet.”
The release, dubbed Cablegate by WikiLeaks, includes hundreds of thousands of cables detailing the sordid actions of the US and foreign governments the world over. Among them was the revelation that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton ordered US embassies to steal credit card data from top UN officials as part of a “National HumInt Collection Directive.”
The details of all the documents has continued to trickle out over the past several hours, showing a growing number of embarrassing revelations and confirming a number of claims which officials had previously denied were true all along.
The Obama Administration has been scrambling to prepare a number of allies for the damning information that was about to be released and has since turned to “damage control” mode in attempting to explain some of its most unseemly behavior, now that it is public knowledge.

Glasnost' is not welcome in the USA; indeed the truth hurts, because we are not who we pretend to be (a representative democratic republic). We are an abdicated democracy, that has been drifting into corporate oligarchy.
If USis can face the truth of what we have become, we can turn it around. If not, we'll turn increasingly authoritarian, leaving governance to secret authority, while our global interdependence gets more dysfunctional, and until we turn on each other in national collapse. The truth hurts, but not so much as the ultimately pyrrhic and fascistic alternative.

When I was young I was taught to tell the truth. As I've aged, this admonition has been watered down because it doesn't fit too well in a capitalist world or a world where building Empires is considered to be important.
That there is dishonesty between and within Governments hardly comes as any surprise. And the more desperate a nation is to gain power and wealth, the bigger the lies are.
The world's value system is stuffed. We now have few values, few morals and no nobility.
The pigs are running the show and they have nukes.

There's nothing I love watching more than a government getting pwned by the truth.

I looked in vain after documents regarding US support to PKK, the terrorists for Kurdistan, and thus against Turkey, a NATO member, as was aired this previous week on Antiwar. Anybody found anything yet?

A little hilarious, that the FREEDOM of the word, which is a foundation of democracy, is now defined as a THREAT against the very same. How utterly dishonest and corrupt the US government and "elite" are!

Very strange. The Turks are silent about it. I know for sure the Turks will not sleep on it. They are very proud people, hence, they are not backstabbers like the Americans. This will be another negative point for the zionist regime which controls the US politics. Americans should think wisely about keeping their bases in Turkey.

"If you haven't done anything wrong, what's so bad about us tapping into your phone calls and hijacking your emails?"
How many times have I heard the government lackeys trot out this mantra every time they introduce one more thing to "make us safe from terrorists". Well, the shoe is on the other foot now and it doesn't seem to fit too well now, does it?
The moral of the story is: if the politicians of the world were honest men and women, this sort of thing wouldn't- and couldn't- happen.

But… doesn't this harm the efforts of our Peace Prize Lauret to be a positive influence on human rights? Oh, thats right, he negotiates by dropping bombs on folks. So yes, the Evil Empire is naked. And Wikileaks deserves our thanks for pointing it out.

Wikileaks is doing a fine job in bringing out the truth. I just wonder when it's founder will be snuffed out,,,rather soon I think. That will be a sad day.
