The German government has declared US sanctions threats “completely outrageous” after an open letter from three US Senators threatened “crushing legal and economic sanctions” against them for allowing Russian vessels to dock in Germany.
This is a continuation of US objections to Russia’s Nord Stream 2 pipeline. Russian ships involved in construction are accused of having docked in Germany’s Mukran Port, and the US is threatening to punish the port over that.
The activity takes place at the port of Sassnitz, and the letter threatens “fatal measures” for the port, which German MPs said amounted to a “declaration of economic war.” The pipeline is meant to supply northern Europe with natural gas from Russia.
The Mukran port is on the island of Rugen, and in addition to servicing the Russian ships, also stores sections of pipeline to be deployed in the area. There is no suggestion from Germany that they’re even considering backing down over the US threats.
Burning the few relevant bridges is Trumpism.
Get all of our forces out of Germany and the rest of Europe. Give the people a vote on that for true democracy.
And get them out of the other 149 countries that they’re in too.

This is a very strange Foreign Policy. Alienating your allies to torment you adversaries is just plain stupid.
NATO was all about keeping Germany down and Russia out. Germany was always an ally of convenience, and Russia always the Mackinderan enemy.
Russia trade lifts Germany up, which by default also brings Russia in.
The idea was to make Germany dependent on Western energy sources, but Russia is just the more logical energy source for Germany.
So how are we gonna build the Western coalition against China if we threaten Germany and Russia? Are the French gonna march on China for us? No way the Brits can join us, they are to busy deciding who will conquer them first – EU or immigrants from the colonies. Nordics are too smart too join our stupidity. Maybe our Ukrainian friends? They seem tied up with eastern rebels. Running outta options here. I doubt Trudeau’s gonna rally the kunuks too our side.
Mexico? Maybe our cartel friends?
Why a western coalition against China? China isn’t a military threat to us. We’re threatening China and Russia, not the other way around.
China is occupying our freedom loving protectorate of a part of the world, namely mainland China. Also HK, and threatening our ability to send Navy into parts of our seas, namely the South China Sea. It’s in the name of the damn sea duh ($outh Chi) NA Sea….
Don’t even get me started on Russia. They may have ransomed part of our country back too us in Alaska.

The Eurasian Century is here; Russia and China aren’t likely to be split this time. It doesn’t help that the U.S. elites can’t decide who they openly hate less, the Russians or the Chinese.
The Western nations are tied up in America’s social civil war, which seems to be a cover for a greater shadow world war over who actually runs the West, the American Empire or the Western European globalists.
Now the US is even bullying its allies.
After WWII, Germany was an ally of convenience in the greater Mackinderan Long War against Russia.
Germany seems softly divided between those who want greater genuine German independence, wanting to trade with Russia and China, and an Atlanticist movement that favours the status quo and fighting for continued U.S. bases, hegemony and such.
Germany’s industrial economic success was also the result of offloading military needs on the U.S./NATO. Nearly Germany’s entire GDP could then be devoted the German economy, not a war machine defending against Russia and exploiting overseas interests.
The deal is antiquated; the U.S. can no longer afford to police the world for European imperialism. Meanwhile, European imperialism hasn’t been much of a German thing since losing WWI, which saw the Allies confiscating all German overseas colonies. Russia and China are not significant threats to Germany, socially, militarily, or economically.
If Germany wants to be more genuinely independent and protect their competitiveness, they need to trade freely with Eurasia (Russia and China) and dodge the aggressive New Great Game for Africa and Asia the rest of the West is banking on.
In a sense. most Germans have truly rejected fascism but the rest of the West has taken it up. Its a delicate game; according to Mackinder, geography is destiny, and size matters. Going by this, all Europe is a tiny rump of Eurasia.
The USA is becoming more and more despised around the world. It’s easy to see why.
