According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a deadly airstrike carried out by the US-led coalition hit the Syrian border-crossing town of Abu Kamal, hitting Shi’ite militia forces and killing at least 26 of them.
Coming just hours after an attack on the Camp Tabi base north of Baghdad, which US officials are blaming on the militias, this appears to be the first in a series of retaliatory strikes by the US and other nations, and so far the only one with confirmed casualties.
Other reports suggest the US hit as many as 5 militia sites inside Iraq, and while there is no confirmation it is expected there will be more casualties to come. The US has confirmed those attacks, despite only saying they think the militia’s guilt is “likely” and that investigations will continue.
The Syria strike however appears somewhat nebulous, as US officials have denied any involvement in it, and say as far as they know the coalition didn’t carry out any operations in Syria at all.
That’s possible, though strikes on Abu Kamal are not unusual for the coalition. Israel has been known to attack the militias there as well, labeling them “Iranian” by virtue of them being Shi’ite.
Another U.S. war in Iraq beginning under the cover of a global pandemic?
It is time Iraq and Syria take off the gloves and go after the US and other forces who have outstayed their welcome in the middle east. Hope this begins soon.
Yes, accept this isn’t Rambo 2. Their enemies don’t stand still to get shot at.
Does not have to be Rambo style attack. A few more rocket and
IED strikes may convince the murderous devils to leave.
The old “highly likely” scenario of Theresa May-no proof, not even evidence, required. The “bad guys” are the others, of course.
Whoever we kill automatically needed killing. “Let God sort it out.”
We make our own enemies.
We must have our quota of death from time to time.
As usual, the US accuses, reacts and acts without showing any proof.
The US has a long history of false flag operations.
The US has many proxy, Jihads, mercenary and terrorist groups acting in the middle east.
Create chaos & present yourself as the solution..
Iraqi President Barham Salih slammed the recent US attacks, calling them a violation of the country’s sovereignty.
The Iraqi military also condemned the US airstrikes that targeted Iraqi-based group Kataib Hezbollah and state-sponsored Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF). According to the military, the air raid resulted in the deaths of three soldiers, two policemen, and a civilian.
So the US doesn’t know the attacks came from our allies, but just decided to bomb them anyways…. Long past time to disband a military that refuses to uphold the Constitution, tired of them stealing my money to pay for their rogue operations.
The message: Don’t mess with our occupation forces just because our markets are diving and the virus is hitting us. Also, political rationale to show everything is under control. No different than the Clinton co-Presidency going on bombing missions every time there was a bimbo eruption.
The PMU is official part of the army in iraq! That is no milita! get your facts straight!
US officials have denied any involvement in it, and say as far as they know the coalition didn’t carry out any operations in Syria at all.
Not just murderers and liars but cowards as well.
A harsh truth the US refuses to face: We have little idea who we kill with our airstrikes, we frequently kill the wrong people, and we don’t care.
We don’t even check to find out who we killed.
We just declare “We got ’em.” The stenography of our “media” then provides a megaphone to amplify that to a credulous American audience. The rest of the world just distrusts us even more (or worse than distrust).
We make our own enemies doing this.
We imprison those who leak the news of what we are doing.
