With fighting erupting in northern Syria taking a lot of attention, ISIS remnants are moving to carry out a number of prison breaks in the region, hoping they can get some of the thousands of detainees held there back on the battlefield.
ISIS issued a statement saying they’d carried out a break west of Raqqa,
freeing a number of women held by the Syrian Kurds. They did not
indicate how many, and the Kurds did not comment on this matter.
The Kurds have tried to pin breakouts in the safe zone area on Turkey’s
invasion, saying they could no longer afford to dedicate guards to those
sites. Raqqa, however, is well south of the safe zone, so it’s not
clear if the Kurds have just left those prisons abandoned as well.
After the US-backed Kurdish offensive into ISIS territory ended in
victory, the Kurds were basically stuck with huge numbers of prisoners,
most of them from other countries, and very few of whom anyone ever
intended to take back.
Someone fired the caterer before the dishes were done. No worries spanky, someone will wash em…not you, but someone.
Jailbreaks suggests the terrorists are escaping. In fact, so far it has been mostly their wives and young children, who’d been held hostage. Escape of the children is a good thing, and a threat only to those holding children hostage.
It is very troubling that — with all the technology on our disposal — we have hard time tracking the events and linking them to places. I doubt very much that there are or have been any ISIS camps in the area of hostilities. Even refugees were not allowed in that area. They either fled to Turkey, or later into government areas. Period.
After battle for Manbij, ISIS was allowed to leave, take their vehicles small arms. They went to Raqqa. And even before Raqqa was bombed into rubble, ISIS fighters moved out. Where to?
At least ONE place is identified — though more are likely.
In Al-Tanf US controlled area, there was a refugee camp on Jordan/Iraqi/Syrian border. Name is Rakban. The area served before as a place of transferring US “vetted” and armed “rebels” into Syria, who then promptly joined various Islamic groups.
After fall of Raqqa, it became FLOODED with ISIS. But ISIS are not prisoners there — THEY RUN THE CAMP making life miserable for refugees. ISIS fighters manage camp, and food distribution. Refugees are not allowed to leave. There are people who escaped, and are talking about a horror they experienced there. But those whose families are there — cannot talk.
US has in VOICE OF AMERICA published a grossest kind of propaganda — that the camp us run by a group called Revolutionary Commando something, and they have a “spokesperson”and a “political committee”. And they are accusing Russia and Syrian government from blocking aid — even though US can supply them in the area US controls. Lies are apparently acceptable in such premier US media, as VOA. When Syria and Russia offered to send buses to allow anyone that wants to leave opportunity to do so. US refused. This real life horror camp is seldom mentioned. What are our plans for those militants?
And the idea that ISIS actually exists somewhere without being FINANCED by a state actor — is absurd. The fact is -/ we are too dumbed down to even ask questions,
There may not be any camps in Raqqa either. There may be YPG prisons, as they ran the place. Syrian experts are already in Raqqa area assessing the damage to oil infrastructure and pipelines.
If there is such a thing as ISIS any more, its “headquarters” are in Rukban camp. In a so called “no man’s land”, on Syrian/Jordanian border. It is within 55 km Al-Tanf US zone. According to US, It was set up as part of CIA training and equipping of first named Free Syrian Army, renamed in Al-Tanf. Later renamed New Syrian Army, and then Revolutionary Commando Army. Today, according to Wikipedia, Rukban camp is managed by US and Revolutionary Commando Army. The number of group members fluctuate between 60–300, clearly their existence paid by US.
Unfortunately, unknown number of refugees is stuck there. And they are not allowed to leave. Those that escaped, escaped into Jordan, and reentered Syria at Government controlled area. Syrian Red Cross /Red Crescent Organization asked for permission to bring busses and evacuate families. But US denied . Spokesperson for Revolutionary Commando Army went into rant worthy of neocon award for creative slime. He claimed that it is Russian and Syrian Government not giving permission to humanitarian agencies to provide food! As if anybody can stop them coming from Jordan! But for some reason — nobody but US and this group are allowed in.
However, those that escaped are saying that there is very large ISIS presence and that in fact they run the camp. Since we cannot tell where ISIS went from Raqqa — at least some went there. It would not be shocking if they are sent to Afghanistan from Al-Tanf. Because they always end up in Government controlled area, not Taliban controlled.
