After last Thursday’s decision to call off an attack on Iran, President Trump spent a substantially more hawkish day Tuesday, suggesting he was equally ready for war or negotiations with Iran, and that it “doesn’t make a difference.”
In talking up how ready he was for an Iran war, Trump dismissed questions about what his exit strategy would be, declaring “I don’t need exit strategies” to a gathering of reporters. He did not elaborate on what that actually meant.
In the context of his talk of obliteration of Iran, however, it certainly points to the idea that Trump, just days after calling off such a war, is alarmingly comfortable with starting another huge US war on the same open-ended, ill-considered basis. Comfortable, at least, so long as he’s talking up his bellicosity in front of reporters.
Asked for his message for Iran, Trump said that “when they’re ready, let us know.” He did elaborate on this, saying he’s “ready to do whatever. Doesn’t make a difference. Whatever they want to do, I’m ready.”
Iranian officials have said they aren’t interested in war, but also aren’t interested in direct diplomacy with the US, in the context of constant US threats and sanctions. For now this suggests the war of words within the administration will continue.
The Israeli junta that occupies the White House is the culprit. In an event of war, Iran and its allies should finish off this artificial, racist entity. This is the only way to resolve the middle east conflict.

Trump doesn’t operate like previous Presidents have. He’s running the country like it’s his own private business. He’s profiting handsomely off it, naming his relatives and cronies to unelected political positions, and feel not only does he not have to answer to anyone, but anyone who disagrees with him becomes an ‘enemy’ rather than a citizen using the power of free speech to disagree with those in power, which is actually one of the better facets of democracy, wouldn’t you say?
Hold the tar and feathers, this has been a part of the democracy debate since its inception. Are people responsible enough to maintain an electoral process ? I agree with all of your voting fixes, and would include gerrymandering reform, and an end to paperless polls. Also, a voting holiday. Yet, when a sizable majority of trump’s base still believe Obama is Islamic, born out of the US, etc,etc, it begs the old question.

The exit strategy is this: pack our things and come home. Sail the Fleet back home. Fly our planes out and bring them home. If we have equipment we don’t want to take the time to remove, we can either sell it or destroy it in place. There’s no ‘strategy’ needed: you simply walk away and don’t look back. It really IS that simple.

I don’t recall ever calling for impeachment either before or after his election – until now. I did believe he wouldn’t be nominated, and if nominated, not elected – for which I was of course wrong. And I did believe he would be a crap President – which he has been. Impeaching him for that reason would be realistic – but not for the sort of nonsense the Democrats are bitching about, such as the phony Russiagate hoax.

In the 1960’s the antiwar movement was buried on the back pages even worse than now. We persisted. And so did the North Vietnamese and the Vietcong. Eventually our story couldn’t be ignored by the media. We toppled LBJ, defeated Hubert Humphrey, forced Richard Nixon to start withdrawal of US troops and eventually got him impeached and force Ford to accept the US defeat in Vietnam (Watergate was an excuse to unleash the pent up antiwar sentiment against Nixon). Eventually the NY Times and the MSM networks had to start reporting the stories that had been running for years in the underground antiwar media.
So I agree the demoncrats , the Zionists, the MSM and the crony capitalists are trying to suppress Gabbard’s candidacy. But the antiwar movement is bigger than any candidacy and has overcome bigger obstacles in the past. At least we have an antiwar voice in the candidate debates. Gabbard’s moment may come if she gets a chance to take down Biden the way she took Tim Ryan last night. But if she doesn’t get the chance, we still have history on our side. As Tulsi said, the Taliban were in Afghanistan long before we came there and will be there long after we leave. Tulsi Gabbard’s stunning breakout at last nights debate is being stolen by the MSM. Tulsi was leading all the online polls taken after the debate and surged to the most Google searches of any candidate during the debate. Yet the NY Times and CNN analyses of the debate don’t even mention Tulsi.
For example, the the Washington Examiner post-debate poll Tulsi was at 41.5% with Elizabeth Warren at 21.5%. The Drudge poll had Tulsi over 35% with Warren in second place at 13.5%. Yet the NY Times did not even mention Tulsi in their assesment of the debate last night. In response to the surge for Tulsi this morning the Times revised its story to portray Tulsi as a loser because she focused on foreign policy. .The offical MSN narrative is that Julian Castro was the big winner, Yet the country rocked last night as Tulsi warned of the danger of nuclear war, accused Trump of having a chicken hawk cabinet, accused Saudi Arabia of protecting Al-Qaeda and took down Tim Ryan for his ignorance of the difference between the Taliban and al-Qaeda in Aghanistan. This morning the hits in Google searches of Tulsi Gabbard have surged to over 12 million from 4.3 million yesterday. I expect Google will take Tulsi’s hits down later today.

Based on last night’s debate performance, I’m considering doing exactly that.
Even if she becomes a serious contender, I don’t see how that would be a down side for me unless something happens to discredit her that would also discredit the peace movement, which doesn’t seem especially likely. The worst plausible outcome is that she gets nominated, and elected, and turns out to not be what she claims to be. Which would leave us pretty much right where we already are, wouldn’t it?
Side note:
The DNC supposedly “randomly” selected the participants for the two different nights of debate, but I doubt anyone believes that it was random.
In my opinion, the field was split the way it was to give the two establishment favorites (Warren and Biden) a field of also-rans to beat down separately, instead of immediately confronting each other, so that they can start emerging as the front-runners and then as the final plausible two. They awarded the wild card, Sanders, to Biden because Warren is the more faux-“left” of the two establishment picks.
I don’t think Warren held up her end of that plan very well last night. She didn’t crash and burn, but she didn’t clearly excel her opponents either. Gabbard was the star on foreign policy. Delaney was the more credible labor/working class advocate. Inslee probably gained a little bit, finally getting his climate change focus out in a big forum. The rest of them just don’t understand yet that their campaigns are over.
Castro also had a moment taking down Beto and successfully identified with Black and Latino voters. And the MSM is pushing him. I expect he will rise in the polls.
ESPN tried to give the debate to Warren – she spoke first and last and more than any other candidate except Booker. I think the master plan was to have it be a race between Biden and Warren with Buttigieg and Castro to provide diversity. The MSM does not trust Sanders or Gabbard. But they may not be able to ignore one or both of them.
Prediction: If Castro gets a poll bump at all, we’ll hear about nothing but his “abortion rights for trans people” weirdness until the bump disappears.
