Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido confirmed this weekend that his diplomats are seeking
to open a direct line of communication with the US military, and would
use them for “coordination” of possible military action to impose regime
change.
Guaido said having direct lines of communication between him and the
Pentagon would put more pressure on President Maduro to resign. Admiral
Craif Faller, the head of South Command, says he “looks forward” to
supporting the members of Venezuela’s military “who make the right
decision,” which is to say backing the US-supported takeover by Guaido.
While Guaido continues to hold regular opposition rallies demanding he
be made president, the crowds at those rallies are getting smaller since
the recent failed coup. With Guaido seemingly losing momentum, the
Trump Administration may ultimately feel they need to get more directly
involved in invading Venezuela and ensuring his rule.
President Maduro maintains control of the vast majority of Venezuela’s
military, despite US hopes of a mass rebellion behind Guaido. Maduro has
dismissed Guaido as a US puppet, and accuses the US plotting to exploit
Venezuela’s oil wealth.
“Maduro has dismissed Guaido as a US puppet, and accuses the US plotting to exploit Venezuela’s oil wealth.”
It’s almost like the US is really on the side of Maduro and is pulling a Keystone Kops routine down there to shore up Maduro’s legitimacy.
Perhaps. But not on purpose. There is too much arrogance at the top. They genuinely thought that all it will take are some sanctions, and shouting “Maduro must go”. Now, US allies are slow learners. Forty plus joined “alliance” to fight ISIS — translate, topple legitimate government of Syria under mantra Assad must go. Those are now cleaning egg of their faces. Europeans, thinking it safe to side eith US in toppling Maduro, recognized a no-name opposition leader. Now they have egg on their face no matter what happens next. South American nations are against military intervention. Abrams, the mastermind, needs plan B, C or D.
I just love our identity warriors, who see discrimination everyhere. Except when it is in line with their party politics. Then, any ugly outrage is just fine.
Both parties are JUST FINE with Bolsinaro in Brazil taking over openly threatening natives of Brazil and descendants if slaves who had land privileges going back generations. “Nit an inch of land for them”, promised Bolsinaro. In Brazil, the descendents of colonizers and other European immigrants, are trying to regain privileges they once had. They do not like the poor getting advantages of education, and getting into THEIR restaurants, sitting next to them on a plane. No, law and order Bolsinaro will give these people guns, and police is out of control. From a prosperous country, Brazil became a dangerous hunta led regime, with economy in shambles, and former president Lula Da Silva, the architect of the economic miracle in jail on drummed up charges. And next to Braziliian flag, Bolsinaro flies Israeli flag. Colonizers of the world — unite!
Same, identical process is under way in Venezuela. The descendants of European colonists and other immigrants of European origin — were toppled from power by Chavez. Venezuelan natives, the majority, were in charge. And just like Lula da Silva in Brazil, elevated millions from abject powerfy into a low muddle class by spending potential. But in Venezuela, natives were for the first time given identity cards to vote. And organized their local governance around the nedd to deal with illiteracy and basic health care. Now, these Venezuelans are fully aware who is trying to take them back into the days where they did not count for anything. This process already took place in Colombia where the natives lost, and fought guerrila warfare for generations. Until today, the country is divided, but with the pro-American government controlling the coastal regions, and natives in the hinterland, all is well. The same thing they will try to do in Venezuela. The only problem is — natives became better off and are living in large cities as well. This is why Guaido cannot wenture outside neighborhoods he is safe in.
How come our snowflake me and me and me too — do not get it?
Both our corporate parties work with the same goal and are guided by our financial aristocracy in the same direction. They need to expand their credit machineryy, or die. Donestically, people are choking under debt burden. Young mortgaged their future with student loans, will not be big shoppers any time soon. So, how about taking at least part of some countries, with elite desparate for our help? Think of the possibilities! After “liberation” they will immediatelly take FAT LOANS and repay them from selling off anything of value. For the global Western financial aristocracy, it is EXPAND loans, or DIE. Like a shark — it must move or it dies.
And this is why this process of reasserting power by the Eurolean colonists that was UNINTERRUPTED for centuries — is significant. We are trying to KILL democracy in Latin America, as independant minded people will not serve our purposes. So, return to power the minority that identifies itself with European heretage — minority desparate for power and willing to attach themselves to us at all costs.
So, all MSM channels, all politicians – even those not in favor of interfering in Venezuela — DARE NOT SPEAK of what the struggle is all about.
If there were only a few million more like you calling their Congressmen to remind them how many rusting bridges, crumbling, pot-hole-filled city streets, depressed homeless veterans could be cared for for the cost of a single $1 billion bomber or a $100 million fighter plane. Well, I did, to remind her that like the chicken-hawk she replaced, she can also be replaced by a woman with domestic needs in mind.
IF, you have to call your congress people about
anything Ever, Shame , they should have been terminated long ago when the rot first started.
They are well aware of the rotted America, It is the peoples fault for tolerating it.
Government does not operate on respect,
It reacts only to fear.
“It’s almost like the US is really on the side of Maduro.”
You’re kidding, right? Pompeo said he had it on good authority (and how would that be?) that Maduro was chomping at the bit to flee- had his “jet waiting on the tarmac,” and was pressured by Russia (who else) to stay. Lapdog Rubio then started barking about Cuban thugs running over protestors in armored cars. Guaido (rhymes with Beto) “wants direct communication with the U.S. military” (just talk to Pompeo- he’ll pass the message along)
Except that Pompous Pompass is a pathological liar and a CIA asset in the State Dept. He’s dumber than a box of rocks, to boot.
Maduro, who was democratically elected twice, wasn’t looking to flee his country .. Pompass actually lied when he made that statement. I doubt he’ll lie when he meets with Russian Pres. Vladimir Putin since Putin would discern the lie very quickly.
He is already in direct communication, the US dictates his action.
Sooner or later, Guaido will realize that he missed the bus. I expect him to try to salvage his sinking career by moving to Washington DC and getting a posh job with some think tank specializing in international intervention.
As shown in this article, news coverage of the situation in Venezuela by CNN promoted a completely false narrative about the nation’s democratically elected president Maduro:
https://viableopposition.blogspot.com/2019/05/cnn-and-its-fake-venezuela-narrative.html
When it comes to the mainstream media and its coverage of Venezuela, it is a very clear case of caveat emptor.
If it’s direct he wants he should join the US Marines or Army;-)
How has this Venezuelan imposter – traitor not been picked up, imprisoned, tried and put to death by the Venezuelan authorities?
I understand there are others who have been detained. Why not this imposter / traitor?
That should be obvious:
For whatever reason, Maduro believes that the results of arresting him would be worse than the results of not arresting him.
As far as murdering him goes, Venezuela was the first still-existing country to abolish the death penalty. Its Constitution has forbidden capital punishment since 1863.
Doggon it, Thomas.
I should just post to you personally as you set me straight regularly.
Thanks again,
David
Well, you ask interesting questions.
The deeper question is behind the answer:
Maduro thinks it would do him more harm than good to arrest Guaido … but why?
Does he think that arresting Guaido would give the US the excuse it’s looking for to directly militarily intervene?
Does he think that enough of the populace is on Guaido’s side that arresting him would be a tipping point to bring about the insurrection Guaido is calling for?
Or does he just think that things will blow over sooner instead of later if he lets Guaido run out of steam instead of cracking down?
I have no idea what the answer is to the question, but I would like to know.
My theory…for what it’s worth…the goal of US regime change is to either, obtain a successful coup, or cause the existing regime to crack down hard on the “opposition”, for “see how repressive they are” propaganda. I believe the Cubans have sent advisors to assist Maduro in making the best choices possible. They should know. I still wonder what kind of assets the US may have deployed during the power grid attack.
And slavery was abolished in 1854.
Guido obviously hasn’t checked the actuarial tables for US backed dictators, and who kills them.
Poor little Guaido, he doesn’t realize that he’s already lost. Even an American invasion would fail to put him in power of a people who clearly cant stomach the stench of his quisling treachery. Go ask the South Vietnamese or at least what’s left of them once the Cong was finished taking them to school. Face it, Guaido, your “revolution” is already dead.
