Continuing a trend of attack and counter-attack that has been raging for months, ISIS has launched a new push against the village of Abu Khaser in southeastern Syria, The village is near the town of Hajin, which is still being contested.
Early indications are that despite the US carrying out airstrikes to try
to back Kurdish forces, a few dozen ISIS fighters managed to overrun
the village, at least for the time being. There were no reports on
casualties.
Fighting is ongoing in the area, but Kurdish officials seemed to be keen
to report the incident, and the loss of the insignificant village,
because of the recent US announcement of a pullout from Syria, and the
general Kurdish opposition to that.
This is not unusual, however, as Kurdish forces have repeatedly taken
those “last three ISIS towns” from ISIS, only to lose them back to ISIS
counter-attacks. Those fights also include nearby villages, as with the
one contested today.
They were probably urged to do so by the CIA in order to justify the US troops guarding them not to leave.

Playing games with our ignorance. What villages are those? ISIS is non existent there, and Kurds alternativelly give licals the right to run oical government, then whack them back — as soon as the villagers start talking kucking Kurd YPG overseers. Then Kurds heroically step in to “fight ISIS”. And they call US air support, resulting in massive civilian casuallties. Then talking of SDF! How many Arabs are in it? Any Arabs in a command pisition on any level? After Prince Charming turned if the spigot — other Gulf co-sponsors cut off support too. Enough lies. Ut looks like. Trump has good listening skills — and learned a lots from Erdogan about who is who on Syrian map. YPG better not bet a farm on US bombkng restless occupied Arabs for ever. And if YPG will not return its far flung militants to Kobane — Erdogan may change his mind, kick YPG from Kobane, and like in Afriin, let YPG opposition take power. The far flung YPG militants may find themselves homeless.
