Defense Secretary James Mattis issued a statement on Tuesday celebrating NATO’s expulsion of diplomats in Russia’s mission to the alliance, saying it proves that NATO is still relevant in stepping forward with such expulsions.
NATO expelled seven members of Russia’s 27-man delegation, rejected three other candidates for appointment, and announced that Russia will only be allowed to have 20 diplomats in their mission to NATO from now on.
This follows the US and dozens of other Western nations announcing expulsions of Russian diplomats, mostly on Monday. NATO’s move, then, is really just an attempt to follow the trend the individual members had already set out.
NATO’s relevance, in that context, is less clear than ever. Indeed, if NATO didn’t exist, those Russian diplomats wouldn’t have been there to be expelled in the first place, because there’d be no need for Russia to have a separate delegation for the military alliance on top of missions to all of the member nations.
If that proves NATO’s relevance, NATO is clearly is good for nothing.
NATO is preparing a to station a hypersonic missile system in one of its member nation’s territories. A launch process to show it’s new capability courtesy of America is in the works. It seems the sequester under Obama’s administration was to save money for this extremely expensive project. I personally am more intrigued by the mini nukes that can penetrate and are designed to scatter into populated areas. Everyone is either developing or are in development of more sufficient nuclear capabilities.Cold War 2.0
….as long as they follow suit and don’t stray, they are relevant according to the hate-Russia crowd.
NATO lost any relevance in 1991, when any reasonable Great Power would have been delighted to establish peace after the Cold War .
NATO’s “excursion” into Yugoslavia and destruction of Serbia in 1999 was the big start of the pretence that NATO was still relevant; now we see Stoltenberg claiming NATO is proud to be supporting the UK in its evidence-free attacks on Russia, as if this will have any positive effect on world peace and security.
You’e 100% correct, Rosemerry; NATO lost all relevance in 1991, when the USSR dissolved. Unfortunately, the evil Zionists hijacked that organization and turned it into the North Atlantic Terrrorist Organization. George H. W. Bush lied when he told then USSR Premier Mikhail Gorbachev that no Eastern European nations would join NATO; that NATO would no longer exist. Instead of dissolving NATO, he allowed Eastern European countries to join, bringing it right up to Russia’s borders.
Russia’s 1st President, Boris Yeltsin, an incompetent alcoholic, was exploited by the West (especially, the US) as Yugoslavia was broken apart. However, Yeltsin did get his revenge when he chose Vladimir Putin as his successor; and, in 2000, Putin began his rebuilding of Russia’s Armed Forces to the point where they’re so powerful that NATO (including the US) wouldn’t stand a chance if a war broke out between them.
Yugoslavia was destroyed and dismembered against the wishes of both China and Russia maybe even against the wishes of the majority of the Yugoslav people too . The United States made a series of serious mistakes when they were thought to be the worlds one and only super power . { 1 ] NATO turned their guns against Russia that was helping NATO in Yugoslavia by protecting Orthodox Christian civilians . NATO issued orders to shoot the Russian soldiers . Evidently NATO did not want any Christians protected .Those orders destroyed Yeltsin’s new liberal democracy in Russia . Alexander Solzhenitsyn sacked Yeltsin and found Putin and ordered Putin to strengthen Russia as fast as you can . [ 2] A missile was fired into the Chinese embassy accidently on purpose . This killed a few Chinese , but Bill Clinton said it was a accident . Later when China found out the Chinese Embassy was a purposely selected target China said they have not forgotten or forgiven this attack in Yugoslavia . Since these attacks and Yugoslavia’s dismemberment China and Russia have become very close buddies and share all military knowledge and technology . They will stick together long after NATO falls apart . They don’t plan on being dismembered like Yugoslavia was
Haley just talked to the United Nations security council and she and NATO { North American terrorist Organization } said the security council should be ashamed of them selves for allowing Russia to use illegal poison like they did in England . Russia denied this poison attack and said where is your proof Russia did this . Seems maybe up to a 160 other countries in the United Nations would also like to see the proof . It seems NATO has committed so many false flag attacks they are no longer believed by a majority of the Nations .
Don’t believe a word the loony banshee Nikki Haley utters at the UN Security Council, Eric; she’s a total libtard/idiot who doesn’t know what she’s talking about. Ever since she assumed her post as US Ambassador to the UN, she’s been ranting and raving incoherently, embarrassing herself and her delegation, as the other UNSC delegations looked on in disbelief.
I’m totally surprised the Senate confirmed this idiotic banshee .. Apparently, the Senators weren’t paying attention. I just hope they’ve learned their lesson and reject John “Bonkers” appointment as National Security Adviser. This man’s shown his insanity just before Dick Cheney and Dubya Bush authorized the invasion of Iraq in March, 2003. “Bonkers” belongs in a padded cell at an insane asylum, not in the White House. In fact, he should’ve been confined back then.
Nikki Haley is a registered Republican, and ex governor of South Carolina. She is not a liberal by a long shot.
Warmonger applies to most of the Dems and Repubs, so there is no difference between Democrat Liberal Interventionists and Republican Neocon Warmongers (who were spawned by the Interventionists).
So between the roadblocks in Ukraine and Syria, the Hillary Apparatchik not wanting to go down for murdering Seth Rich, and U.S. energy companies trying to shut Russia out of Europe, this “Russia did it” meme has taken on a life of its own.
It’s now the trendy political bandwagon to be on if you want Uncle Sam’s attention.
