During the course of a Wednesday meeting, NATO agreed to greatly increase their use of cyber weapons during all future military operations, as well as substantially upgrading their cyber-war capabilities.
Officials made clear in comments after the meeting that the upgrades were necessary specifically to “combat Russia,” suggesting that the repeated allegations of Russian hacking by US official have NATO ready to further militarize cyber-space.
NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg says cyber warfare has created a new security environment, and cyber conflict will be “an integral part” of any future military conflicts conducted by the alliance, presenting the ISIS war as an example.
It’s not clear to what extent cyber warfare has been successful in the ISIS war, however, as the efforts have chiefly been focused on trying to silence pro-ISIS narratives online, and attempts to advance alternate narratives in support of the warring states have been of limited success, but massive financial cost.
Wonder if Stoltenberg will strut & preen when every European capital is a radio-active ruin?
NATO took over where the NAZI’s left off . with much the same goal of dominating the entire world .The Catholic Christian Church and Islam have much the same goal So they seem to fit right in with the United Nation’s plans often all working together on the old Roman plan of one world government regularly called the NWO
So China and Russia and maybe a few other countries are standing in the way of the NWO .executing their Roman plan . I don’t even know which side the American people are on .Vladimer Putin was correct when he told George Bush we need to discuss and debate what the orders should be . I think the American people , particularly the Christians and the Muslims would also want to discuss what the NWO’s are . rather than just all joining forces and blindly following the NWO .
Once we give the NWO the power to control the whole world it will be to late to discuss what the orders should be .
China is no obstacle to the NWO.
If they were, THEY would be under constant sanctions, their ambassadors killed, their embassies stolen, and their govt accused of hacking the known and unknown universe…
Militarizing the internet is inherently indiscriminate and self-defeating. It has routinely involved warehousing common vulnerabilities for future exploitation instead of ensuring they get fixed. It targets what is essentially free speech, possibly including speech by Americans. And it’s a gross over-reaction to what was probably just a routine probing of all IT infrastructure, like most intelligence agencies the world over are always doing.
All this about Russia is nothing but hype and hysteria, motivated by a cynical and selfish political agenda.
Can you name 1 good or even a 1 poor reason why should we want to combat Russia on the internet or anyplace else . .
Psycopaths want to reduce world population.
Russia hacked nothing, yet blamed for everything.
Butthurt scum angry that they couldn’t destroy Syria.
