Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov was among a series of top Russian officials issuing warnings with regards to the latest round of US sanctions against Russia, which overwhelmingly passed the House and seem to have strong support in the Senate.
With US-Russian relations already at a post-Cold War low, officials are warning the US sanctions are putting them into “uncharted waters,” pushing an already unstable relationship even further with additional sanctions.
Russian officials pinned this on “anti-Russia hysteria” within the US Congress, saying that they believe President Trump, who was previously talking up a diplomatic rapprochement with Russia, had effectively been “trapped” into going along with the sanctions.
The House bill that imposes the sanctions also heavily restricts the ability of the president to unilaterally lift sanctions in the future. Indeed, that was the initial point of the bill, Democrats wanted to prevent Trump from removing any sanctions. To get it through Congress, they added sanctions on Iran and North Korea.
The Russia sanctions have not only riled Russia, but the European Union as well, with fears the US sanctions will heavily hit European energy companies that are reliant on Russia for supplies. EU officials have warned the US is likely to face a swift retaliatory move by them if the sanctions go through.
The dollar’s days as world reserve might be numbered. Especially if this round of sanctions passes, then ignites a trade war with Europe.

The main thrust of the latest sanctions seems aimed at rermoving any Russian advantage in supplying LNG to western markets. The US wants the new Baltic pipeline stopped. The US seems to think that the EU will be willing to pay a little more to buy American gas.
We don’t seem to want to let Russia make any money . I thought Trump was going to be different . But lately he sounds the same .. We put sanctions on foreign countries and belittle them for being so backwards and poor . I don’t consider us a very friendly nation .
Russia makes money despite the sanctions and, as MacBeth said, “There’s the rub!”
Unless we ‘cave’ and drop the sanctions, we’re heading for a war.

I hope the EU does not cave in, and does sanction the USA which is getting completely out of hand in its threats, attacks, destructive actions to all its “enemies” and allies, while pandering to Saudi Arabia and Israel, who are the real problems (besides the Dems and Repugs in the US, of course!).

Not hardly, for the real problem of any issue is the root cause, the only thing that need be changed to bring an end to the misery.
And in any kind of problem, force is never the root cause, as force is always the end result of a cause.
For Saudi Arabia, Israel and the paid actor politicians of Empire USA, they are ruled by a power combine of men the most wealthy and powerful, men the most glorified in all the world.
Now we’re getting somewhere, for this power combine has a cause and it is the root cause from which will spring all the wars and violence from now until planet earth expires in a convulsion.
For is wealth a god we must worship? Are the men most wealthy a power combine we must allow to rule supreme over life and death? This is the real issue.
Truth is, wealth is the property one ones above what is needed to have a comfortable life, surely wealth is stolen property belonging to starving children. And not until humanity outlaws all wealth, will the men most wealthy stop being the deadly gods of society.
Now that all but 3 politicians in the House have sold their soul and decision making powers to the highest bidder, what will the rich do next? Maximize expansion, surely, so which of our seven endless wars will explode next?
