While officially the White House is condemning the ISIS suicide attacks in Tehran today, in keeping with their policy of being against ISIS, President Trump’s own statement on the matter appeared less than wholly sympathetic, attributing the attacks to Iran “falling victim to the evil they promote.”
President Trump has made clear since the campaign that he does not like Iran, and spent much of his recent trip to the Middle East pushing hostility toward Iran, as well as portraying Iran as being to blame for most of the terrorism in the region.
That ISIS is the world’s biggest terrorist organization, and that Iran has been heavily supporting both Iraq and Syria in fighting ISIS, doesn’t fit into Trump’s narrative, and the fact that ISIS just launched terrorist attacks in Tehran is particularly unwelcome to the US agenda of trying to spin everything wrong in the Middle East as being Iran’s fault.
President Trump’s answer to this, then, is to remind everyone that Iran is a “state sponsor of terrorism,” an official designation by the US government which means effectively nothing, and only currently applies to three countries that the US doesn’t like, none of whom has anything to do with ISIS, al-Qaeda, or other major international terrorist groups.
Is Trump trying to provoke a war or a terrorist attack?
He seems to be doing his best to rile everyone.
Most likely, yes, this attack has the marks of a directed provocation.
Israel, US, UK, SA want Iran to launch. Any war against Iran would require a massive American troops presence. Perhaps this is why the Army is paying such extravagant bonuses to keep and recruit its soldiers.
“President Trump’s answer to this, then, is to remind everyone that Iran is a “state sponsor of terrorism,” an official designation by the US government which means effectively nothing, ”
Actually it means that the nation or the organization is opposed to the Zionist enterprise.
The Donald shows his class again. What a complete a**hole. And Trump better not hope “reaping what you sow” applies to us because we’ll be a pile of ashes if it does.
How Trump can get away with this and live with himself shows he nauseating level of discourse and action the USA has sunk into.
What do you think of this story?

I think it is too convenient, it hits all of the favorite State Dept memes, secret Hezbollah operatives, arrested in the U.S., bomb making experts, scouting out U.S. / Israeli embassies as well as Panama Canal. I’d like to see if this leads to an actual conviction.
I recall how the State Dept. still talks endlessly about the so-called Iranian/Hezbollah plot to kill a Saudi ambassador in the U.S.
It looked more like a sting operation where they found some local stooge who was contacted by someone from MEK who pretended to be a member of the IRGC. They setup a meeting with a drug cartel member who ended up being an FBI agent. Bang, local stooge gets tossed into jail for life, mysterious ‘IRGC’ officer never arrested and State Dept has story to tell about ‘#1 sponsor of terrorism’.
Blame the victim is a common thread that holds together people ranging from rapists and wife beaters to mass murdering genocidal empires bent on world domination.
I was happy that Clinton lost the election but at what cost? Trump is not representing all Americans he is unfortunately proving to be a bigot.
