Faced with growing pressure to accept the narrative of the US intelligence community, President-elect Donald Trump’s Chief of Staff Reince Preibus now says that Trump accepts the conclusion that “in this particular base” of hacking was the fault of the Russian government.
Preibus said Trump accepts Russia was behind intrusions into Democratic Party targets, but did not say if this conclusion included the believe that Russian President Vladimir Putin personally ordered and directed the scheme, which is a central part of the official narrative.
Preibus also said Trump “may take action” over the hacks, though he did not suggest that this in any way changed Trump’s hopes of having improved relations with Russia. Other Trump transition team officials say that there was no contradiction between this and Trump’s position in recent days.
Intelligence officials were already quoted in the media saying Trump’s comments were insufficient, and Senate hawks were pushing Trump to take action to “punish” Russia and back away from improved relations with the country.
If a report was produced on Israel’s intrusion with its operatives into USA politics it would probably take up 10 volumes.
Don’t change the subject already. It is only going to be an indicaton that you Americans haven’t learned anything.
Before changing the subject you have to try to counterspin this to make it look like Trump has stood firm on the hacking allegations being not true. Use your imagination!
Talk to Raimondo or read one of his posts on this. He’s soooo good at picking winners to “not” support! LOL
luv from Canada.
I can detect a butthuirt liberal from miles away and this is it.
Look lemur, this isn’t a complicated concept to accept. The Russians were involved in hacking and it doesn’t make a damn bit of difference one way or another. The American people have been snookered into believing that it does matter. That’s all.
Trump has said that the Russians did some hacking. If you prefer to make him out as a liar then you can do that too. Perhaps he’s only interested in saving his own vanity by giving the appearance that it didn’t make any difference to the election? That in exchange for an admission to the spooks that Russia was involved. That’s a favourable counterspin you can adopt if you like.
luv from Canada.
Well, from the article it seems Trump did not cave in but their team found some political phrasing which at least does not invalidate the whole US intelligence apparatus before the Donald is even sworn in. And then even let the chief of staff say it since Trump probably said he’s not convinced it was all just a Russian scheme (and nothing or no one else). Obviously the online behavior of Hillary has attracted a lot of interest over time around the world to dig for more.
Besides, there’s still a logical error which needs resolving, which amongst others, Trump, Assange and Putin have pointed out. Here the two main lines:
A. the leaked mails contain upsetting information which might have changed people’s minds during election time.
B. the leaked mails contain mostly irrelevant information, politics as usual and therefore could not have been of much influence.
If A=true, the information is upsetting because people perceive it as describing unethical or even illegal activities. This in itself should worry the secret services and Justice Department. Of course is A=false and B=true the hacking operation failed and should not take center stage in the light of what all intelligence agencies do worldwide, including the ones from the USA.
It cannot be both. This is a big contradiction which is still being ignored.
Look Jan, I was right and Trump caved to admitting the Russians were involved in hacking the emails. That can’t be counterspun now to change the facts. period!
The whole point is Jan, as I have said several times even before Trump caved, it just doesn’t matteer. All countries which make it their business to take part in the cold war rhetoric building are hacking as much as they possibly can. That’s a given, and it’s also a given that the US is more active and proficient in espionage than most other countries, if not all.
Here’s the message: IT DOESN’T MATTER! BUT THE PROPAGANDA CAMPAIGN HAS MADE IT MATTER TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!
Can we move forward now with that understanding in mind?
But where’s the actual proof that Russia hacked the DNC?
It doesn’t matter jonah. It doesn’t matter jonah. It doesn’t matter jonah. It doesn’t matter jonah.
It was only Trump’s contention that the Russians didn’t hack and that was purely for his vanity’s sake. He can’t have anyone thinking that he didn’t win fairly.
It’s most likely the Russians did because that’s what cold war enemies do, and it’s also very likely that Assange knows the hacking info originated from the Russians and slightly less likely that it came directly from the Russians. But it doesn’t matter jonah. It doesn’t matter jonah.
You can get this jonah!
JFK shows what these folks will do. Who can blame him for carefully “crafting” a response that eases the tensions with the “intelligence” community?
That’s your counterspin? Is that to suggest that they would ‘off’ Trump the same way they supposedly ‘offed’ Kennedy? So that takes away any guilt Trump should bear now?
Nothing the CIA or intelligence community says should be trusted. THEIR role in manipulating elections globally is well-documented as is their role in coups, beatings, and even assassinations to ensure the installation of pliable US puppets. As I don’t think there is or ever was any guilt on Trump’s part, I see this as just appeasing some spoiled children with a bloody past (and likely bloody future).
Trump should have asked Clapper & CO. a few questions at the end of the briefing.
#1. Does the United States/CIA hack into other governments?
#2. Does the United States/CIA interfere in the elections of other countries?
#3. Does the United States/CIA fund NGOs to stir up trouble in other countries? e.g. Ukraine, Syria
#4. Does the CIA assassinate people around the world and blame it on others?
All good questions and all should be answered in the affirmative.
But the task is to first have Americans listen to such a smack down at their patriotism and then to have them believe it. And that’s simply not going to happen until brains are shrunk back to normal. How do you suppose the American people are ever going to fight the power of thousands of propagandists who are demonizing Putin. For christ sake, they even demonize him for riding a horse without his shirt! How fu==ing sick is that Mary?
luv from Canada.
Yeah, it’s really sick.
That was a strange week for Trump. Bizarre tweets and walk backs until he gave up and nailed himself in the box.
One word- COWARDS.
If you can’t find the balls to defend yourself against obvious lies then you might as well put a welcome sign on your britches because you’re a sock-puppet. Game over.
