President Obama’s major Wednesday speech on the new war against ISIS tried to assure the American public, even as he is expanding a new open-ended Iraq War into neighboring Syria, that there will be “coalition partners” doing the real fighting on the ground.
Yet the nations cobbled together so far, mostly NATO members, haven’t actually committed to do anything, and while a few nations like France and Britain have floated the idea of sending warplanes, none are expected to send ground troops. Secretary of State John Kerry’s tour of the Middle East is unlikely to secure any tangible support either, beyond financial pledges for Syrian rebel factions already being bankrolled by the GCC.
Rather, the “boots on the ground” in this major new war are likely to be exclusively the Iraqi and Kurdish forces already there in the near-term, as the US continues to build up its own presence on the ground for what, despite all promises to the contrary, is going to be an American ground war.
President Obama made it clear that the air war is just “stage one” of the war, but the future assumptions that the heavy lifting of the ground war is going to be carried out by some coalition partners is sheer fantasy. The war is, and was always going to be, America’s to fight.
The scramble for the buildup began awhile ago, with the Pentagon already putting out feelers for contractors to support an open-ended conflict in Iraq. Announcements of a few hundred new troops for Iraq, including 475 announced at tonight’s speech, are happening pretty much weekly now.
With the president continuing to try to pretend this isn’t taking the US straight down the road to a new ground war in Iraq (and Syria), the policy continues to be sneaking as many ground troops in under the radar as quickly as possible, while continuing to scare the public about the ISIS threat so that when the ground war begins in earnest, they are too frightened to object.
Obama appeared to ask for ramped up aid to "moderate" rebel factions on the ground against ISIS.I believe the Free Syrian Army is being funded by the U.S. ? Unfortunately the second US. citizen beheaded by ISIS was sold by the Free Syria Army to ISIS for somewhere between $50,000 to $100,000. So Obama appears to be stuck in his own bad war policy and is attempting to rally world support to continue this bad policy. The U.S. is now becoming further entrapped in the senseless Syrian civil war it helped ignite and maintain. The Syrian war has killed hundreds of thousands of Syrians and made about half the population refugees. Now Obama seams intent on making young Americans pay the ultimate price for his senseless blunder. And corporate media has already sold the war to the American public.
Long ago there was the 'Coalition of the Willing'. Then there was the 'Coalition of the Unwilling'. Now we have the 'Coalition of the Very Unwilling'. How long before it is the 'Coalition of Don't Look At Us Buddy, You Created This Shit, Sort It Out Yourself'.
The American people have nothing to worry about, those 475 troops will be dressed in tan suites and carrying briefcases.
I wish i could intercept the pretender's calls. Then we would know EXACTLY who is DIRECTING Amerika's destruction..
Any answers? Come on…let's hear the TRUTH..!
We now have a ''STRATEGY'' from the anti- war president. Get out the popcorn its going to be fun to watch who will get the blame when something goes wrong. If we even know if anything will go wrong I. E. the media covering it up for this man.
And if the press were to do its job, the American people would understand that there is no "coalition" and that this is, as stated above, America's war to fight – and die. But the press is more interested in access to those in power, which they would surely lose if they started reporting the truth instead of what they are being told to report.
There is still a chance to get ourselves out of this mess. The American people need to be awoken…if there was only a way to break into the miasmatic cloud of manipulation that has enshrouded the public for years.
War between enemies? — Really?
The two most criminal and diabolical nations the world has ever known, Empire USA and The Islamic State, both benefiting immensely from wars of aggression, both nations financially unable to exist without an overabundance of constant expansion, both join hands in their quest to enslave the world by fearful submission.
Bush was right in 2007–We should never have left. He predicted what would happen if we left 'too soon'.:
"To begin with withdrawing before our commanders tell us we are ready would be dangerous for Iraw, for the region and for the United States…It would mean that we'd be risking mass killings on a horrific scale…It would mean we'd be increasing the probability that American troops would have to return at some later date to confront an enemy that is even more dangerous". –Fox News headline 9/11/14
Seriously? You were able to type, "bush was right". Seriously?
Wrong. The US never should have invaded Iraq in the first place. It seems that most of the American people, especially those who listen to Talk Radio and watch Fox News, are so profoundly idiotic to see the folly in the United States' wars of aggression.
Hey John.BUY a ticket–GO CLEAN IT UP..Take some Amerikan "Cracker Jack' with you..lolo..PS: Take your sons & daughters ALSO–>>–TRY TO ENTICE A FEW CONS FROM CON.GRESS TOO..
There is no "coalition" but those who started the present problem in Middle East, Saudi/UAE and Jordanians are the only coalition willing to invade Syria and Iraq to fight the Saudis/UAE barbarians, not the English nor the Germans wants to be part of the fight with ISIS, here, the obvious matter is that even the best friends of Obama giving up on his Islamization in Middle East and Neo fascism in Ukraine.
This is nothing new, every US president in last 30 years or so have done the same deceitful and fraudulent politics toward nations in middle east, in return USG have kept its military, navi bases in Persian gulf and Israel apartheid fascism regime been continuing with their stealing of Palestinians land while Saudis been continuing beheading people and no democracy is not tolerated by UAE. But USG still cooperating with these regimes waiting fir better time to arrive?
USG seemingly piling up on already existing piled up problems they have and created for last 6 years of Barack Hussein Obama presidency, here, by calling their last resort, once again, they are about to create another situation where this time another eight headed monster will be born.
Mojo, Right on target with the truth again..thank you..

“access to those in power…”
But surely you jest, for those in power, namely the corporate rich, do they not own all of mainstream media, hire most politicians as paid actors and hoard all the profits in their wars of plunder?
Yep, this jesting is killing us..
