White House officials made the rounds today on the Sunday talk circuit, pushing hard for a war in Syria but also expressing confidence that Congress would easily pass the resolution authorizing the war.
Chief of Staff Denis McDonough, who appeared on multiple shows, insisted that it was “too early” to worry about the vote counts in Congress, saying everyone was confident that the resolution would pass “after we work this.”
That’s been the administration’s position all along, but Congressmen have been coming out in droves against the war, and in the House of Representatives there is already a majority on the “no” side, with a large undecided contingent to go with them.
At present there are 233 “no’s” on record, and only 39 yes votes, with 144 publicly undecided and 17 more who haven’t commented at all. Polls still show a solid majority of Americans opposed to the war, and that seems to be driving Congressional opposition one year before bi-elections.
Antiwar.com urges all readers to contact their Congressmen and urge them to vote against attacking Syria. Click here for contract information.
Let's have the Congressional vote now, before the arm-twisting begins with boondoggle projects in home States and the Lobby gets into gear. It's pitiful how they only want a vote only when they think it will go their "intervention" way.
There is still time for those of (us) opposed to a war with Syria. We all need to contact our members in
Congress and let them know (we) won't get duped again into another costly conflict in the Near East.
Let's send Obama and his puppetmasters over in AIPAC a clear NO WAR WITH SYRIA!
It's not Congress they ought to be watching/counting…it's the American people. For those in Congress who are contemplating voting for going along with the Administration, it's not YOUR votes you should be concerned with – it's OUR votes. With the low, very low approval by the American people you are about to cross a line where even those who blindly vote for you time and time again are going to send you a message that you (Congress) can no longer ignore what we, the people, are telling you. If you insist on taking the country into another senseless, criminal war in a Muslim country you should then be prepared to defend your decision – and you will be asked. And after the past disasters, the same old "protecting our freedoms" ain't gonna fly anymore. Just sayin'…
Of course he is confident – they did plan the wars he is carring out for them !
In case of conflicts you should always listen to BOTH SIDES ! –<<

Call your congressman and ask him/her to set up a video camera — hidden or out in the open — in his office, so when the Lobby comes a calling your rep can record it all.
Show that arm-twisting/bribery subversion on YouTube and the Israel Lobby is finished.
The black caucus, although they know is against American interest to strike on Syria, but because Obama is black they will vote YES for skin color. This is called tribal interest above interest of the United States. Obama is a zionist puppet and a traitor and must be impeached now.
