As everyone else in the world collectively catches a little bit of sanity with respect to the US notion of attacking Syria, the Obama Administration is still going full steam ahead toward the strikes, even though at this point the attacks will be coming without much of anything in the way of international support, and with polls still showing solid American opposition to the war.
Secretary of State John Kerry, leading the charge for war in Syria for months, is continuing to take the helm in pushing the case in speeches, not so much providing evidence for their allegations but reiterating the claims and insisting that the evidence is “clear.”
Incredibly, Kerry doesn’t seem to be keeping up with the allegations that have already been disproved, reiterating rebel claims of 1,429 killed as an unquestionable fact even though Doctors Without Borders already put the real figure at 355 dead nearly a week ago.
President Obama delivered a brief statement shortly thereafter, insisting he hasn’t made a final decision on attacking Syria, but bracketing that claim with clear signals that the decision, as previously reported, was made long ago. The president was also pressed on asking the UN or Congress, and expressed disappointment with the UN’s opposition to the war, while dodging the Congress question entirely.
It is telling that the official narrative of the administration remains wholly unchanged from what the rebels were pushing last week, and keeps getting put forward again and again as the obvious truth, yet intelligence officials, whose job it would be to verify these claims, concede that they are “no slam dunk” and that there is much they simply don’t know about what happened.
That’s the difference between the political leadership and the experts though, and with the political leadership determined to see this war happen at all cost, growing doubts about their story seem to be going in one ear and out the other.
The skull faced wants a world of skulls around him, yuck!
If DeForrest Kelley was still alive, we could pose them together and get a picture of "Skull and Bones"
"Clear evidence" is his Botox injections. Scary Kerry. Warmonger.
This man and the whole USG Administration belong in the war room of "Dr.Strangelove"
There has never been such overwhelming opposition to a U.S. war. Every site whether it is Antiwar,
Yahoo, or my local corporate rag the Minneapolis Star Tribune the opposition is 10 to 1 against this madness.
Read the articles about the speech, especially the Guardian one. Kerry claims that the US knew about plans for the attacks several days in advance, and did nothing, like say, publicly exposing the plans for the attack. Instead, the Obama administration let the attack go forward so that it could exploit the victims to justify air strikes!
That is, if you believe it. If you don't, that makes Kerry's remarks baldfaced lies to justify the attack.
Either way, it's bad, really bad.
Wow, Jason, only 355 killed? No anger at that, eh? What if the number was higher? Where's your threshold or 'red line'? What if any of those were your friends or family? Sorry but I think you're being naive here. I'm not for a war with or in Syria but I would love it if Assad were taken out.
They are having problems. Remember, the attack was supposed to go in on Thursday.
This guy looks like a flesh-eating zombie and thinks like one too: John Kerry, Secretary of the Undead.
In his speech Kerry stated that they knew when, who, and how chemical weapons was used, based on intelligence report, is this before or after the facts, or is he trying to make 'PRISM' look good?
He does not seem to get it — who cares? Number of dead? Chemical weapons? Drones? Depleted uranium? Agent orange? Enough already. The armed and masked "hero" we are arming and paying are responsible for the act — and now, bomb to distract from the investigation that will point the finger to you know whom? How about putting on leash the monsters you let go on people of Syria. Just ask accros Balkans — the recruitment drive is getting hundreds of newly minted Salafis to training in Vienna, to be sent to Syria. From Bosnia, Kosovo and other moslem enclaves in Balkans. Who is paying, who is training, who is organizing the whole thing? Such stupid things can backfire, and destroy the way of life we know today. These people have zero common sense.
Riddle me this John "Only Syrian forces have access to Sarin Gas" Kerry:

It's more sinister. There have always been people in the Pentagon actively pursuing a counterforce policy resulting in the long-term goal of Disarming First Strike Capability. That was the reason for ELF-Extreme Low Frequency in order to track all enemy submarines. NAVSTAR, renamed GPS was made for Minuteman-3 and Trident-2 to be able to hit missile silos accurately. The missiles on 32 ships in the Mediterranean Sea, in Romania and Poland are to finish the job, according to Bob Aldridge -www.plrc.org. Inevitably, that leads to Launch On Warning. And Suicide, unfortunately. Again? http://www.mcremo.com
John Kerry: " "It is about whether Iran, which itself has been a victim of chemical weapons’ attacks, will now feel emboldened in the absence of action to obtain nuclear weapons."
Bizarro world in full swing alright! Just the tiniest promise of some military action and foam automatically appears at the mouth: all sanity out of the window! The rush to war, alway paved with insane pretenses…
