Since the truth about America’s everyday surveillance of individual citizens came to light, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper has come under particular scrutiny for overt lies made under oath to the US Senate. The White House is said to be comfortable with them.
Clapper was defiant on Sunday news shows when asked about that particular federal offense, saying he felt the question he was asked was “unfair” and that he gave the “least untruthful” lie he could think of in response.
Which was still a horrible lie that he eventually got caught in, and his attempts to defend lying under oath on the grounds that he could’ve conceivably given an even worse lie was so asinine that he’s become a laughingstock, at least for the moment.
Since Clapper’s crimes are in many ways the same as Obama’s crimes, it isn’t that surprising that the White House is defending him. Yet as the scandal lingers, Clapper’s lies and the compounding factor that they were made under oath could make him a political liability, one the administration may eventually have to ditch as it struggles to keep its surveillance apparatus intact.
These people are paid entity of the vulture capitalism.., off course they are going to be protect when they lie, kill people, betrayal their own people, act un justly, act against humanity or democracy and etc.., so the question raised by Jason here is not the right one.., he simply don't questions the motive of the system but rather say how it is. The motive of the system is to be dominanter in all aspect of mankind life all over the world.., that what hitlerism was about .., so the Roman Empire, so was the Napoleon and others. We said it and saying it again.., the third phase of Neo fascism is about to emerge.., that's what this system tells you people.., that's why they spy on you no matter what you do.
There was a time when governments sought to preserve some image of decency and when they pursued some self-interest in looking good in the eyes of the country. But the more tyrannical and out of control these government became the more shameless, reckless, and careless they became. One sign is when they refuse to remove corrupt, ignorant, incompetent cabinet members and other high officials. One can see that with the embarrassing staff surrounding people like Chavez/Maduro/Correa… and now Obama. While Obama did make a few good choices, many were just pathetic. And he couldn't care less. What on earth is Contempt Holder doing still getting a taxpayer paycheck? Susan Rice? James the Clap? These people aren't doing Obama any good. But does it even cross his mind to replace these morons? Nope. He's now gotten so arrogant and deranged that he's keeping the worst of the worst. He doesn't even care about pretending to be reasonable. He doesn't care about his legacy. Screw it, this is pure authoritarianism.
Obama and his top echelon of cronies would be well suited wearing Gestapo uniforms.
Great, do you mean that the Obama administration was listening to my phone sex chat and conversation I had with my mistress, oh, and all the porn site I visit… Bunch of perverts.!

So who is this big brother?
This isn't that bad "his attempts to defend lying under oath on the grounds that he could’ve conceivably given an even worse lie" is just like getting stopped by a State Trooper on the interstate for going 90 in a 70 zone. I always say "Gee officer my car will do 120 easy. So since I could have been going 30 miles per hour faster, why pick on me. Gets me from getting a ticket every time. Well no not actually, but if I live in the fair tale surreal land of Crapper, I mean Clapper it would be ture.
Obama cabal gots the clap……. Holder+Clap=Sisyphus
"Jimmy, you're doin' a heckuva job."
Our voting majority being the 51% most wealthy,
is their love of wealth so great that they will
sacrifice all their rights, freedoms and dignity?
Need I ask?
"Our voting majority being the 51% most wealthy in my imagination"
There, fixed that for ya.
James Clapper is a Dick Cheney clone, pure and simple. The sob not only performs Cheney's same function in Obama's administration, but also acts, looks, and talks exactly like America's #1 sociopathic #1 war criminal. Including his unique ability to lie with impunity under oath, while never showing the slightest hint of shame or embarrassment.
Duh, well of course a serial pathological liar like Obama would defend another liar. These people are practically incapable of saying anything truthful.
I believe absolutely nothing any government official says anymore. None of it.
Does anybody seriously think this professional parasite will face any ramifications for his admitted perjury?
You've got rocks in your head if you rely on State jurisprudence to punish the likes of this scumbag. It's past time that people took the punishment of vermin like this into their own hands.
As a hint: serious abuse of a public position was a death penalty offence in ancient Athens: if more professional parasites literally faced the axe for malfeasance, they would adjust their behaviour. Ask any Bourbon (and their fellow-travellers) – they stopped throwing their weight around once their heads started ending up in baskets. Note I'm not defending the French Revolution here – like the US Revolution, it sought to replace one rotten system with another, which had the predictable consequence of installing another bunch of parasitic scum in place of the former lot (Sam Adams being the first and most obvious exemplar).
Ask me no dqiestions and I will tell you no lies.
What did they do to poor Martha Stewart for lying to a government official? Or what they're still doing to John McTiernan, director of Die Hard- lying to the FBI? When McTiernan said he didn't know a guy, and they managed to prove that he did- someone from a decade or so before.
American law is very clear and very harsh toward people who lie to officials of the US government.
Unless, apparently, you are an official of the US government.
The ethics of PRISM can be put in terms of lying, as evinced by Robert Clapper, Director of Intelligence at the NSA, before Congress. Kant’s critique of lying can shed light on whether Clapper should have lied. If he should not have, what are the implications for the republic from the compromised democratic accountability? See "The NSA Goes to Congress: Kant on Lying as Unethical," at the Worden Report (http://www.thewordenreport.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-nsa-goes-to-congress-on-ethics-of.html)
