Israeli officials see a war with Hezbollah as “inevitable.” That’s nothing new, as Israeli officials are always either in the middle of a war with Hezbollah, patting themselves on the back for a recent attack on Lebanon, or talking about how the next one is inevitable.
But as Israeli troops conduct their latest drills along the Syrian border, the situation is disconcerting. They pretty sure they’re going to eventually be fighting someone in Syria, but whether it’s the government, Hezbollah, or the rebels isn’t at all obvious.
Israel had always looked at this in the context of a “broad, regional war” against virtually the entire Shi’ite world at once. The assumption though, and in a time of relative stability it was a reasonable one, was that Israel would be the one starting that war, deciding when to attack, when to escalate, etc.
This gave Israeli Army commanders ample time to grandstand, vowing attacks on densely populated parts of Lebanon, and warning Syria and everyone else not to dare even try to retaliate when the war happens.
Things are so uncertain now, and so unstable, that Israel is in the unusual situation of having to prepare for the Syrian civil war just straying across the border, as it has in Lebanon.
Israeli leaders by being paranoid they always prepared for wars.., if not that then their apartheid regime is prepared for war at any time.
Tendentious leftist article-you see what you want based on the spectacles-in this case pink-that you wear. Ian is not a country o fpeace-they talk about destroying another nation-Hezbollah is their proxy army and is going on the offensive soon. The US and Israel are no angels in a world without angels.
You obviously don't read your Bible.
How many times do I have to point out that the ENTIRE PURPOSE of the Syrian crisis is to enable Israel to attack Hizballah in Lebanon EFFECTIVELY by going through the Bekaa Valley?
They tried to remove Hizballah in 2006 but failed because they depended too much on air power and went in through southern Lebanon. As Colonel Pat Lang pointed out, the only effective way to take on Hizballah is in a classic pincer attack through southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley – which requires transiting Syrian territory.
And the best way to do that is if the Syrian military is already under attack by the US and NATO under the "responsibility to protect" doctrine.
Libya was the test case and caused a "light bulb" to go off in Israel's, the US' and the neocons' heads as to how to take out Hizballah and Syria. Everything that has occurred since is part of this plan to enable Israel to start a war with Iran "cheaply" (for Israel) by taking out its nearest strategic threats in such a war – Syria and Hizballah, especially the latter.
The zionist will think twice in starting a war with Hezbullah they got their asses broke in their last encounter now they are better armed and trained for the zionist.
