The ugly fight for Syria’s largest city of Aleppo shows no signs of letting up, with both sides claiming progress once again and the rebels claiming to have captured a major police station, saying they took the police inside as captives.
The ever-escalating conflict is showing no signs of being decided any time soon, and UN officials familiar with the situation on the ground say the “main battle” hasn’t even really begun yet, suggesting things could get far worse.
Of course “worse” is a relative term, and while Aleppo isn’t experiencing the massive civilian death tolls rebels were predicting, it is both Syria’s financial and manufacturing capital, and the city is in a state of virtual shutdown, with the ordinary civilians unable to go about their lives because of the endless fighting.
Aleppo is seen as a “decisive” battle for both sides, each of which believes that the other could not sustain itself after a defeat. This has both factions adding more and more troops to the city, and no sign of a resolution.
This is getting out of control now… I'm sorry, enough is enough…
The title of this fine 'article' is:
Syria’s Aleppo a City in Full Shutdown as Fighting Continues
No Jason…this is simply not true. The City of Aleppo is not "in Full Shutdown" as you 'report'. This is an invention and propaganda/agenda driven 'activist' reporting.
'We' have been over this before Jason Ditz:

http://news.antiwar.com/2012/07/26/civilians-flee… (see comments section…this even includes satire–which obviously was wasted on Mr. Ditz and others here)

What the Syrian security forces have done in Aleppo is isolate and close off the neighborhoods of Aleppo the rebels have 'infiltrated' from outside the City–as to allow citizens to evacuate these areas (even assisting civilians to relocate). This also seems to clearly be a strategy to 'starve out' the "rebel" forces…as doing so seems like a better strategy than going directly at them and causing more damage/incurring more casualties than necessary–this strategy is simply 'rational'; regardless of what one may think about the Assad regime, and also explains why the rebels are crying about it and the US and other 'powers' want to establish 'supply lines' (which they have a different name for and want to implement under the guise of "humanitarianism"–which is exactly why this 'article' of fantasy even exists now–whether Mr. Ditz is even conscious of this or not).
I will say, however, even though Mr. Ditz 'may' not realize he is being played and used as a fool and useful idiot by the forces he claims to despise, I have come to the conclusion he is, nonetheless, engaging in 'activist' journalism against the Assad regime–and is not simply just an innocent, gullible, 'reporter' who thinks he's just doing his 'job' and doesn't know any better…
I've been 'nice' so far, but there are limits to everything. if Mr. Ditz continues to act as a propagandist and/or useful idiot for the call of 'intervention', especially at this time, I don't think it will ultimately benefit Mr. Ditz's credibility or "Antiwar.com" as an "non-interventionism" website. Not only does Mr. Ditz parrot incredulous and illogical obvious agenda driven (propaganda) talking points line by line….not only that, he goes even further and embellishes the propaganda with his own 'complimentary' 'facts':

I generally like this site and think there are a lot of good and interesting things written here–some things I may even disagree with, but think are worth reading and thinking about… Be that as it may, this is not a situation where I 'disagree' with Mr. Ditz, or simply think he has some sort of crackpot 'theory', 'premise' or conclusion… Mr. Ditz is actively taking part in the propaganda campaign to drum up support for military "intervention" against the nation of Syria by parroting and expanding on, and even 'inventing' in some cases obvious BS talking points which have no connection to reality or facts… I'm fairly certain I'm not the only one who has picked up on this…and being a 'stooge' for the 'empire' and/or 'intervention', I would assume, is not only considered objectionable, but even disgusting by many, if not most, readers here.
It is what it is…
Good Ben-C. Actually, this trick has become very common. "Some" writers demand a full blown investigation on the ar crimes being committed in Syria meaning of course Assad and his entourage. However, these same "journalists" remain silent in the face of the crimes committed by the main culprits here: all the western leaders and their Arab puppets plus the Zionist puppeteer. Why don't these writers demand a full blown investigation of the crimes carried out by these super war criminals: Bush, Obama, Sarkozy, Cameron, Netanyahu, the king of Saudia Arabia, the Sheikh of Qatar, Erdogan the "facilitator", and the thousand upon thousands of sharks in the form of lawyers, political scientists ad other servile human garbage?
