Western intelligence sources are reporting that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard is ratcheting up its combat readiness today, as well as deploying troops to defensive positions amid fear that an attack is in the offing. Western reports also have sleeper agents in Tehran launching attacks.
Of course the prospect of an attack on Iran is nothing new, and the nation has been facing international threats of an imminent attack virtual since the Iranian Revolution in 1979, with claims that they are within a matter of months of obtaining a nuclear weapon the default excuse for the threats since at least the mid 1980s.
The increasing shrillness of the threats over the past several weeks however, have the omnipresent threat suddenly seeming much more serious, and with international schools closing their doors the residents of Tehran are stockpiling food and other supplies in case the bombs start falling.
Both the US and Israel have been threatening Iran for years, but recent speculation has mostly centered around Israel, with the belief that they intend to launch an attack soon, before the winter weather makes such an attack less convenient.
I so desperately hope that a war (at least an overt one) does not come to pass. Please stop the death and destruction, ALL human life is valuable.

The threat posed to the whole world by Israel is huge. This tiny nation with its religious fanatics should have been stood on a long time ago. But with the U.S. arming it and defending it, it is now in a position which is hardly justified given its tiny population which is both elitist and racist.
How did the world allow this to happen? Surely many saw what Israel was becoming. It hasn't bothered to hide it!
The very creation of Israel was a travesty and should have never happened had there been real justice in the United Nations, instead of a concerted effort by the United States to Ram this unholy creation through the General Asembly…. which by the way, has absolutely NO legal binding authority to anything they do. They may ONLY recommend. It is then up to the Security Councel to either implement or reject what they recommended for pervue. The Security Council NEVER took up the subject, ergo, the very "creation" of this state is NOT legal. Equally unknown is the fact that Israel's inclusion into the UN as a member state, was conditionally based on Israel allowing ALL Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and businesses. Israel Accepted those conditions, amongst others, and immediately rejected them once they became a member. Once again, NO penalty for such outrageous perfidy that has been multiplied over the last 64 years.
The state of Israel was created to begin the fulfillment of the biblical prophesies. The Armageddonists believe that in order for the return of Christ to occur, there must be a state of Israel. So, even in 1947, the religious nutcases are meddling in world politics, bringing death and destruction on those who do not believe as they do (the Palestinians) and setting the world up for a cataclysmic event. The crimes of Israel, as pointed out by Tatiana, were overlooked because of the need for Israel to exist.
The religious nutcases are bound and determined to bring the world to an end in the mistaken belief that their God will save them. Screw the rest of us. Not a very Christian thing to do, is it? But then, a religion that has existed on and fostered war and despair isn't a very loving religion after all.
Perhaps Christianity (most all religions for that matter) is the fatal flaw in the "human" model.

The only thing which the West are successful at is making people hate us. If only the politicians realised that change in Iran can only come from within, and that the old guard will die out. If we think that Iran is repressive, then take a look at Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, they are worse, but they happen to be our "friends" so we ignore their abysmal record on human rights.

Take a deep breath and calm down. Until the price of oil jumps very rapidly, there will be no attack. Meir Dagan, former head of Mossad, has raised so much Hell about all the saber ratttling by the Likkudniks that they have had to back peddle. Ehud Barak just recently stated that they have no plans to attack Iran. If the Israelis are serious about a real attack, they will contact all their insider buddies in the US and other countries to have them buy oil futures and stock in anticipation that oil will at least quadruple after an attack. It happened in 2008, when the price of gas went to over $5 per gallon in the US when the Israelis were pressing Bush to assist in an attack in the early summer.
