Bahraini MPs (nearly half of whom resigned yesterday) are calling again for the immediate ouster of the monarchy and the entire government as what started as peaceful protests on Friday turned into yet another bloodbath.
The protesters were marching on the hospital, where hundreds of wounded were taken after the overnight massacre in Pearl Square, when they were met on a residential street by a large number of military forces, including tanks, who opened fire using live rounds just 300 meters from the hospital.
This led to another influx of wounded into the already overwhelmed hospital, before the military and police decided to start blocking the medical teams from bringing in additional casualties. This has left scores if not hundreds of victims in the streets, within visual range of the nation’s largest hospital but with no hope of the hospital’s crews reaching them.
Doctors reported that amongst the hundreds of new casualties most were shot in the head or chest, and that a large number of the wounds appear consistent with sniper attack. The overall death toll of today’s attacks is unclear, of course, with large numbers of bodies still in the streets, but the hospitals have confirmed at least 10 additional dead so far.
Good god! Tanks opening fire!?!?! There should be sanctions on Bahrain immediately. Fat chance. God damn the US is the evil empire. We are seeing the collapse of the evil american empire
I rather surmise that it's the "large number of military forces" which opened fire. As said later, snipers. With tanks using shotgun rounds, casuality counts would be off the sheet.
More here [as they say on CNN 'these images may be shocking so viewer discretion is advised' or some equal retardedness]

Looks like the monarchy is in a hurry to suicide.
And the US is planning on protesting this….how? I am SO glad the USG is promoting democracy and free speech in the Middle East. I guess, though, when it's not in the "American interest" we just turn our heads and do the 'move along, nothing to see here' routine. I wonder how much blowback THIS sordid episode is going to cause- and how much longer we can expect to have US forces stationed in Bahrain.
Another Saddam moment: yeah they're bad guys… but they're OUR bad guys so it's okay.
I can only pay tribute to these heroes who empty-handed face the ruthless and criminal regime supported by the much more ruthless and criminal US government.
1- Middle East without America….? actually is a very good question, one of the reason for peoples uprising is the wars in middle east created by US and EU, the second is the fact in double moral, language, politics, treachery, cope de Etta’s, support of dictatorial regimes and the list of the wrong doings by US and EU can be very – very long. Here I think I have answered the question why people in Middle East are better off without US or EU militarism present in middle east. In the other hand the US military presence in Middle East is not taken as a peace gesture but rather as upcoming wars with rest of the world. Look the BS by some US security “Experts” who say that these dictatorial regimes providing information about “terrorist” group and therefore they are US allies raises the question: where were these terrorists 30-40 or even 70 years ago when EU and US started supporting these dictators and orchestrated their own cop de ettas.
Continue….2- If US or EU and China, India, Russia, Australia or what is called “world power” (another falsified terminology calling few countries a world power) want to see peace in middle east first thing they need to do is enforce the will of the people in Middle East on Israel and boycott the system in all front until Israel accepts the peace.., as it was done against Iraq, here, Israel already have a WMD and is a proven fact, but the question about Iraq having WMD or not was falsified for the sake of those who are not for peace but rather wars and more wars.., now if masseur is implemented and enforced then and only then is going to be peace in middle, hence, US and EU needs to understand that as long their military is in Middle East people are not going to trust them. Cultural matter is exchangeable by trust not by force.., here it is the people who would exchange their culture and have a neutral relations in social economic and political understanding through education based on trust and respect.., not what US or EU sees fit when its in their “interests”.
