Confirming that Israel’s attack on Damascus earlier this week killed two members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, the Guards issued a statement Wednesday vowing that Israel “will pay for this crime.”
The Damascus attack was just one of several regular Israeli attacks on Syria. The strikes damaged areas near the Damascus airport, doing damage and killing two. Reports were that the strikes aimed at an ammunition depot.
Early reports suggested that civilians were killed in the attack, though this appears to have been the same two people that have since been named as colonels of the Revolutionary Guards.
Syria and Iran both often threaten revenge after Israeli attacks, but largely that has not happened, and Israel continues to carry out attacks with no suggestion that they are concerned.
Israel better cool their jets and let things back down a bit…
One of these days, Israel is going to take things too far and it’s going to come back at them in a big bad way…
Escalate, escalate, face backlash, claim victimhood and cool their jets… wait for it die down. Rinse and repeat.
