Israeli drones carried out multiple strikes against an apartment complex in the city of Nabatieh al-Fawqa today, doing substantial damage and setting fire to the building. Exact number of casualties have yet to be confirmed in this incident.
Bombing and demolition operations continued apace elsewhere across southern Lebanon, with explosions reported in Bint Jbeil and Majdal Zoun, along with a large blast by Israeli forces in Qusayr.
These attacks have continued apace despite the most recent deals between Israel and Lebanon, which were notionally presented as peace deals, but didn’t actual require Israel to stop attacking nor withdraw from Lebanon. UN Human Rights Chief Volker Türk warned yesterday that the Israeli demolitions and population displacements could amount to war crimes.

There is, however, no sign that Israel is contemplating any significant operational changes. The number of people being killed in the ongoing invasion has gone down in recent days, though the strikes are still happening, and massive amounts of Lebanon are still displaced.
Another new round of talks between Israel and Lebanon is scheduled to begin early next week, though here again, it comes after repeated Israeli insistences that they have no intention of withdrawing from Lebanon, making it highly likely that such a deal will, as so many others, amount to very little for the people impacted by the war.
France’s representative to the United Nations Security Council issued a statement calling on Israel to immediately withdraw from Lebanon. The statement also reaffirmed support for UNIFIL peacekeepers operating in southern Lebanon after the death of one of their members in recent weeks.
