Israeli Airstrike in Gaza City Kills Little Boy and His Father

The attack came a day after Israeli gunfire killed a three-year-old boy in Gaza

An Israeli airstrike in Gaza on Monday hit a rooftop in Gaza City and killed a nurse, Mohamed al-Habeel, and his young son, Mousa, as the IDF continues its constant violations of the US-backed ceasefire deal.

According to Drop Site News, al-Habeel was an emergency room nurse at al-Shifa Hospital, and his son Mousa was just six years old. The Quds News Network reported that they were targeted while filling water tanks on the roof of their home.

“He was filling water for people, leaving his work from a place to another filling water for people. For thirsty people, they targeted him,” al-Habeel’s father told Reuters as he was mourning his son and grandson at al-Shifa.

The killing of Mousa and his father came a day after Israeli forces in central Gaza killed a three-year-old boy, who was shot as his father carried him, according to relatives. The father survived but is in the hospital being treated for a gunshot wound to the leg.

Israeli attacks hit other parts of Gaza on Monday, killing at least two other Palestinians, including a woman in the town of Zawayda in the central Gaza Strip, and another person in the nearby Nuseirat refugee camp.

Gaza’s Health Ministry said in its daily update on Monday that Israeli attacks killed at least six Palestinians and wounded six over the previous 24-hour period. Since the so-called ceasefire deal was signed in October 2025, the IDF has killed at least 992 Palestinians in the Strip and wounded 3,144.

The ministry’s total death toll since Israel’s genocidal war began in October 2023 is now over 73,000, though several studies have found it’s likely a significant undercount, and the true violent death toll may be as high as 100,000. The bodies of thousands of Palestinians who are missing remain under the rubble and have not been added to the death toll, as the recovery process is stalled by the continued Israeli restrictions on construction equipment entering Gaza and the IDF’s occupation of at least 60% of the territory.
