Israeli Strikes Kill Two Lebanese Paramedics, Wound Five Others

Lebanese Health Ministry: Israel directly targeting ambulances

Israeli forces have continued to directly target Lebanese ambulances, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry, and those attacks resulted in at least two paramedics killed Sunday and five others wounded.

The paramedics were targeted in Qallawiya and Tebnine, and the Health Ministry said they were deliberately and directly targeted in violation of international law.

The strikes on Sunday followed up on a deadly Saturday in which as many as 25 people were reported killed, and a number of others were wounded. This included at least eight members of the same family in Saksakiyeh. The US is planning to host Israel-Lebanon direct talks next week.

Meanwhile, Israel is continuing to issue expanded evacuation orders, with several villages in the Jezzine area ordered evacuated on Sunday. Israel said Hezbollah violations of the ceasefire forced them to issue new evacuation orders.

In practice, of course, Israel has killed several hundred people since the ceasefire went into effect, and hardly a day goes by that they don’t carry out attacks. Consistently, the IDF declares Hezbollah to be in violation of the deal, however, while ignoring their own violations.

Hezbollah reportedly fired some rockets at Israeli military positions inside southern Lebanon, though Israel insisted that they were intercepted and no one was harmed.
