After Deadly Beirut Strike, Israel Resumes Pounding Southern Lebanon

Netanyahu brags of attacking the ‘heart of Beirut’ during the ceasefire

Wednesday saw a substantial number of Israeli strikes on Lebanon, despite the so-called “ceasefire” between the two nations, including the first strike against the capital city of Beirut, which reportedly killed a commander of Hezbollah’s Radwan Force.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu bragged about the attack hitting “the heart of Beirut,” and said it proved that “anyone who threatens the State of Israel will die because of his actions.”

Israel followed up on the attacks with yet more attacks on Thursday, claiming to have killed another 20 Hezbollah operatives in airstrikes against southern Lebanon, though providing no evidence that the people they killed were actually Hezbollah.

One person was killed and several others wounded in an airstrike against a house in Ain Baal, while another was killed in a strike against Nabatieh, which reportedly targeted the town’s shopping district. Large explosions were also reported in Yater.

Multiple paramedics were reported wounded in Toul, when Israel carried out a “double tap” strike against their ambulance, destroying the ambulance and leaving the rescue workers on the scene wounded.

Four Israeli soldiers were also reported wounded in Hezbollah drone strikes against their position. One was described as having sustained “serious” injuries and the other three were lightly wounded in the strike.
