Islamist Rebels Kill 10 Syrian Soldiers in Attack on Bus

Anti-tank missile hits bus transporting troops home

At least 10 Syrian soldiers were killed and several more wounded on Friday, when Islamist rebels in the country’s northwest fired an anti-tank missile at a bus carrying troops back to their homes.

Details are still emerging, but the al-Qaeda-linked Ahrar al-Sham issued a video to the press showing the attack, reporting in was west of Aleppo.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights couldn’t confirm who carried out the attack, but said the death toll is liable to rise. This is one pf the deadliest rebel attacks of the year.

Syrian-backed forces responded to the attack in the area, with Russian jets carrying out strikes that left several people injured. The identities of the injured are as yet unknown.
