Civilian Killed as Turkey Attacks Kurdish Town in North Syria

Several villages hit around Tel Abyad

While most of the focus on Turkey’s military is centered on Iraq, they are finding Kurdish targets to go after elsewhere as well, with reports in recent days of shelling in northern Syria.

One civilian was reported killed and several wounded over the weekend in attacks on Tel Abyad, and the surrounding villages in northern Syria. Turkey has not commented on the attack yet.

This came just days after Turkey’s attack on Kobane in the northeast. The attack there targeted targeted the Kuidish Women’s force of the YPJ, killing three.

The Kurdish SDF complained thew attacks are a violation of international agreements they have on the region, warning that the attacks threaten anti-ISIS operations in the area.
