Israel Did Major Damage to Iran’s Drone Fleet in February Attack

Attack destroyed hundreds of drones

In mid-February, a sparsely-reported attack by Israel was carried out against an Iranian drone site in Kermanshah. The strike did far more damage than anyone realized at the time.

The attack ended up destroying hundreds of Iranian drones, a substantial part of their overall fleet. A growing part of their military, this cut into Iran’s strategic weaponry reserve.

The attack came from Israeli forces, who used drones themselves in the attack, and reportedly launched the strike from Iraqi Kurdistan. It was this reason that this past weekend, Iran fired missiles at what they described as an Israeli Mossad site in the Kurdish capital of Irbil.

Israel attacks Iranian interests over and over again across the region, and while retaliation is often threatened, this is one of the rare times it has happened. Striking so timely underscores what a big deal the attack was.
