Israel Fires Missiles Into Syria Border Area

Damage reported as several sites hit

The latest Israeli strikes against Syria saw missiles fired from the occupied Golan Heights against the border town of Quneitra. Several sites were hit, causing damage.

Details are still emerging on what was hit, and Israel is not commenting at this time. As of yet there is no word of casualties.

Its not unusual for Israel to attack the border towns, or Syria in general. Normally the attacks are aimed at Shi’ite groups, mostly Iranian, though Israel rarely wants to officially address the strikes.

Reports are that Israel followed the strikes with leaflets warning locals not to cooperate with Hezbollah. This suggests more strikes are likely, and that Hezbollah will serve as a pretext.
