Democrats: Biden Should Clarify US Role in Yemen

Administration dodges questions on Yemen operations

With more and more focus on the Saudi-led war in Yemen, a number of Democratic members of Congress are pushing President Biden to clarify what the US role in Yemen actually is.

Biden has announced plans to end US support for offensive operations, and people are still trying to figure out what that means, what with US refueling missions and massive weapons sales to the Saudis.

They’ve been asking these questions for a solid year, and the State Department and Biden have been dodging the questions, as the US continues to support the war.

In Congress, some want Biden to pressure an end to the war, and the start of a peace process. They’d hoped that was the plan, but every time the Saudis escalate the conflict, the administration gives lip service to what they’re doing.
