78 Houthis Reported Killed in Yemen’s Maarib

Sunday's deaths included yet more Saudi airstrikes

Sunday saw Maarib once again taken with violence south of the city, as pro-Saudi troops fought the Houthis, and Saudi airstrikes targeted their positions in the area.

All told eight Houthis were killed in fighting on the ground, and 70 more in the airstrikes. The Houthis did not confirm this, nor was there word on casualties on the other side.

The Saudis also claimed six military vehicles destroyed in the airstrikes, and further strikes in neighboring al-Bayda in the evening. They warned civilians away from the camp in al-Bayda.

Such death tolls are a near daily occurrence in Maarib. Despite this, the Houthis have seized nearly the entire province since February.
