Saudis Destroy Explosive-Laden Boat in Red Sea

Officials say boat destroyed before they attacked

Saudi officials attacked and destroyed a boat they claimed was full of explosives. Details on the matter are still emerging.

Saudi state media reported this, saying the boat was loaded with explosives, and that it was destroyed before it could attack. This took place in the southern Red Sea.

The location suggests something to do with Yemen, but whose boat it was is unclear, and it was never reported what they thought the boat was about to attack.

This comes amid mounting criticism of the Saudi naval blockade of Yemen. Though there is much we still don’t know, it seems tailor made to justify the operations off the Yemeni Coast.
