Turkey Kills Three in Drone Attack on NE Syria

Car destroyed in attack in Qamishli

With a Turkish incursion expected soon, another Turkish drone attack has taken place in Kurdish NE Syria. Three members of a family were killed in the attack on their car.

Kurdish media identified the victims as 82-year old Yusuf Kello and his grandsons. The attack was in the border town of Qimshili. Turkey did not comment on why they were targeted.

Generally speaking though, Turkey is targeting Kurds anywhere and everywhere that they can, and will issue statements declaring them to be “terrorists” shortly thereafter, even if those claims don’t stand up to scrutiny.

These strikes are likely meant to fuel uneasiness in Kurdish territory, with suggestions another ground invasion could begin at any time.
