Turkish Drone Strike in NE Syria Kills Several Kurdish Fighters

Attack targets post storing heavy weapons

With ongoing expectations of a new Turkish offensive against Syria’s Kurds, Turkey carried out a drone strike against the Kurds in the northeast.

Exact casualty figures are not yet available, but at least three Kurds were killed, and a number of others wounded. The post was evacuated after the strike.

Damage isn’t clear yet, though the post was apparently storing heavy weapons for the SDF. With Turkey openly planning an offensive, weapons depots are likely targets.

The SDF has been gearing up to resist a new offensive, and trying to conscript locals. After Turkey’s parliament extended war authorization, a new attack is only a matter of time.
