Israeli Missile Strike Kills Five in Damascus Suburbs

Strikes targeted convoy, killed militia members

An Israeli missile strike targeted a convoy in metro Damascus on Saturday, killing five militia members and wounding two Syrian soldiers. The strike was also claimed to have destroyed a number of weapons and ammunition believed to be transported.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights claimed it was a Hezbollah and Iranian convoy carrying weapons, and was heading toward Lebanon at the time of the attack.

Syrian state media reportedly intercepted some of the missiles, described as surface-to-surface. The day-time strike also caused some material damage in the neighborhood.

As usual, Israel offered no statement on the attack. They hit Syria routinely, however, and there is no real question that this was just the latest in that process.
