Saudi Arabia has issued a statement Friday reporting at least 92 Houthis were killed around Maarib, the result of at least 31 Saudi airstrikes launched in the last 24 hours.
These are just the latest of several hundreds killed every week in central Yemen, sometimes in ground fighting, but mostly in airstrikes, as the Saudi coalition desperately tries to keep the Houthis back.
This means almost all the statements out of the Saudis side are emphasizing casualties, and numbers of strikes, while not confirming casualties on their own side, nor acknowledging that the Houthis have steadily taken much of the territory.
This has left thousands dead, but the Houthis getting ever closer to Maarib, and while it’s not clear how long the Houthis can sustain such losses, so far they seem determined to do so.
