It’s not exactly a secret, with rebels putting up videos showing themselves wielding US-made weapons, but the Obama Administration seems to finally be admitting to its arming of the Syrian rebellion.
National Security Advisor Susan Rice confirmed today on CNN that the US is “providing lethal and non-lethal support” to the “moderate vetted opposition” in Syria.
Rice insisted the she was “heartbroken” about the civil war, and that this was why the US had “ramped up” its involvement in the ongoing conflict. Recently, US weapons, particularly anti-tank rockets, have been showing up across the rebellion.
Other administration officials were still refusing to detail the extent of the US armament of rebels, so it’s not clear if Rice’s comment reflects increasingly overt involvement in the war, or simply a one-off interview while they continue on with relative secrecy.

Well, first of all, the ICC isn't going after Assad. There was an attempt on the UN Security Council to refer Syria to the ICC, but Russia and China vetoed it.
Secondly, that is the same block to the US and Israel being referred to the ICC.
The ICC's territorial jurisdiction extends to countrie:
* where the person accused of committing a crime is a national of a state party (or where the person's state has accepted the jurisdiction of the Court);
* where the alleged crime was committed on the territory of a state party (or where the state on whose territory the crime was committed has accepted the jurisdiction of the Court); or
* where a situation is referred to the Court by the UN Security Council
Neither the US nor Israel are state parties to the ICC, and the US have a veto on the Security Council. QED, they will remain outside ICC jurisdiction.
Sudan is NOT a state party to the ICC either. Since the US has veto power on the UNSC, it is able to protect itself and Israel from ICC referrals. Sudan had no one to protect it.

If I were evil (and hence selling evil characters for do-gooders to chase (imperatively, other than myself)), I'd certainly prop up sobbing females to sell evil USg remedies all day. If she didn't like what was happening in Syria when she was UN ambassador she could have rung her boss and demanded he pick up his red phone and close down the covert operation. Then resigned if he didn't.
Didn't think this was a secret to anyone, wouldn't be surprise either if Israel is in on the deal, and transferring some of those weapons to our so called "moderate rebels."
