A story to be published on Monday in Newsweek is revealing that President Obama secretly sold 55 GBU-28 bunker-buster bombs to the Israeli military in 2009, citing comments from unnamed officials familiar with the deal.
The Pentagon declined to confirm the sale, but Press Secretary George Little did say that US was “committed to helping Israel maintain its qualitative military edge.” The bombs had been sought for an Israeli attack on Iran, something the Netanyahu government has repeatedly threatened.
Though Israel has repeatedly sought additional weapons for an attack on Iran and railed at their civilian nuclear program, the IAEA has repeatedly certified the non-diversion of nuclear material to any military purpose.
The same can not be said for Israel, however, where occasional mentions of their own massive nuclear arsenal come without any formal acknowledgement, and the nation still refuses to allow IAEA inspectors in. Indeed, the IAEA announced today that they will not even discuss Israel’s nuclear weapons at their next meeting, an effort which came at the behest of the Obama Administration.
When will US foreign policy stop using double standards? Let the IAEA do its intended job and stop providing military hardware to countries that have vowed to use them on another nation with whom they are not at war. Israel can bemoan the fact that a stronger Iran has emerged from the US enterprises in Iraq and Afghanistan, but that was the result of illegal occupations. Are there other countries in the world that currently occupy the land of others without their invitation? If so we have the making of the Society of Occupiers with the USA as President, Israel as Vice-President and the other countries serving as secretary and treasuer. Oh there's the rub, most of these countiries are mightly big debtors. .
Israel intends to use these weapons on:
1) Hizbollah's underground bunkers in southern Lebanon.
or
2) Iran's nuclear reactors.
The number of bombs Obama gifted Israel is indication that Israel will most likely use them against southern Lebanon.
So the region had better get prepared for another 1300 civilian Lebanese deaths courtesy of the current regime occupying Tel-Aviv.
Or:
3. The civilian population of Gaza;
4. The civilian population of Lebanon;
5. The civilian population of Iran;
6. The civilian population of Turkey
9. The civilian population of Egypt; and/or
10. Any other civilian population in the area they want to conquer.
and when that's done, on the USA
It seems Israel wants to make sure this time it will not have its a** kicked out. You see Hizbullah taught the IDF a lesson and they have been itching for a fight to try to get back its aura of invincibility, which is no more than propaganda spread by western media anyway.

And by "sold" it means give away. Or rather, we paid them for the privilege of accepting our gift. Just what we need. The world's most dangerous rogue state getting more deadly weapons.

Well, it's not to much of a secret now, is it? As for 'selling' them, I seriously doubt that. The US doesn't sell anything and Israel doesn't buy anything from the US. They either get it for free (courtesy of the US tax paying suckers), they extort it or flat out steal it. Other than that, there's nothing new here. Who, in the year 2011, doesn't yet know that Israel and the US are the biggest terrorists in the world and the true Axis of Evil?
I'm sure the gift of bunker-busting bombs to Israel by the peace-loving US govt will be vigoursly debated in the Republican debates.
PS: I just looked at that picture and based on Obama's look of relief and Bibi's smug smirk, I have to conclude that Bibi was holding on to Obama's balls (if he has any) in a real tight squeeze and just let go for purposes of the picture.
The "sale" of these bombs will guarantee Isreal will be able to occupy southern Lebanon native population free.
It is a pity that the current president of the [us] has some africian blood coursing through his body but that does not prevent him being a war criminal like his predecessors.
I wonder how long it will take before a news release is forthcoming declaring that China now has the US technology for the GBU-28 bunker-buster and the guilty party for them acquiring this will be a "rogue-element" of a foreign nature?
