The White House today angrily rejected an announcement that Iran had agreed to a third party enrichment deal with Turkey and Brazil, with Press Secretary Robert Gibbs promising to continue the push for sanctions.
Other US officials mocked the deal as a ploy, and one official termed it “too little too late,” even though the deal was materially the same one the US has been demanding Iran agree to for the past six months. Another official demanded that Iran submit the deal to the IAEA for consideration.
Though the US seems determined to continue on with its calls for sanctions it seems unlikely that they will be able to successfully sell the sanctions, ostensibly to punish Iran for refusing to accept the third party enrichment deal, now that they have accepted the deal.
Moreover, while the US fancies itself as having veto power over this matter the deal doesn’t really involve them directly or indirectly. Turkey will take possession of 1,200 kg of Iran’s low enriched uranium and, assuming Russia and France come through with the pledged rods for producing medical isotopes, will turn it over to those nations. If they don’t, Turkey will return the uranium to Iran.
At the end of the day all the US condemnations in the world are likely to change nothing, and whether or not they manage to stop France from cooperating in the exchange several members of the UN Security Council will likely be persuaded that the diplomatic process still has a chance or, if it does not, that it isn’t Iran’s fault.
Here is the transparency Pres. "O" promised, We can see right through him and his "good intentions".
Not what he had in mind when he spoke of his great respect for transparency.. I never give the world leaders much credit for seeing things as they are to me, us and the ordinary citizens.. They are always looking for the votes, the bucks….the muscle to continue in power and prosperity….their-own. Whether it's Bolton promising India a get out of jail card for their nuclear business if they stab Iran in the back on the IEAE vote, or Uncle Sam handing out [cash] [bribes]"aid"….there is always American payoffs, [military equipment] power and pressure [military threats] shaping events. So if numerous world leaders are silent….and then decide Iran should give more….. You can be sure they have been gotten to, and "convinced" one way or the other to sign onto the ever escalating threats and pressure against Iran. But WHY Iran?? They are so insignificant, except to cause the U.S. economic pain if attacked…. I keep wondering Why Iran… What about….. well so many FAR greater problems and dangers……. Why Iran?
Why Iraq? Why North Korea? Why Syria? In my mind it is because those countries are not run by politicians pliant to our monsters in DCs interests. They either didn't like the deal we tried to make with them or they wanted too much to sell control of their countries political system to the US. As Pepe and Scott Horton were talking about. Ut is all about full spectrum dominance.
Even the US tactic of embargoing spare parts for their US armaments purchased during the Shah's regime have been thwarted. The Iranian AF, US F-14 Tomcat aircraft have been refitted with Russian engines, electronics and weapon systems with licenses to manufacture more in Iran. The Persians like the Iraqis are not unintelligent technically.
The only reason the US was able to subdue Iraq so easily, relatively speaking, was that we waged an economic, material, psychological and military war against them with the unvarnished complicity with the United Nations (sanctions) for over a dozen years prior to our aggression in 2003.
Iran has not fallen victim to that evil tactic and will not. If Israel/US want to attack Iran they will do so on a nation that will be able to inflict heavy casualties on them. This the only reason the cowards have not done so up till now.
why Iran, it's not just about nuclear, Iran has become a powerful nation that can threat israel dominance of the middle east, just like that of sadam's Iraq.
IT IS ALL ABOUT ISRAEL.
Yes sir. It is. And don't let anybody confuse you otherwise!
What a confused state of things! The deal is MORE then what was asked for before. It creates an escrow of nuclear material in Turkey, and that was the deficiency in the earlier proposal. So, it is an identical deal as already approved by IAEA, US and others, but considerably improved by the role of escrow. In the previous deal, Iran did not have any international guarantees that rods for medical isotopes would be returned as stipulated. In fact, the deal was essentially good, but not implementable due to the lack of logistics. You would think US would be thrilled by having its key problem solved! This should work, as there is a real incentive for everyone to keep to their end of the bargain. Because if Russia or France do not keep their end, Turkey would simply return uranium to Iran. That should be the motivator to keep everyone honest. I am lost as to what is the problem, unless the problem was always something else, not enriched uranium.
The problem has always been Israel's nuclear hegemony over the entire Middle East. Israel, the state that stole uranium from the United States and enriched the uranium in the United States which broke all US laws was never prosecuted by the Johnson and Nixon administrations. Thus, Israel was rewarded by its theft from the US. Israel controls the US Government through Congress and the Presidency Its demand that Iran not
have the CAPABILITY to develop a nuiclear power abrogates the NPT which Iran has signed but Israel refuses to sign. The people of the world are wise to Israel's demands for power and territory. It is only the Americans who buy into Israel's propaganda.
the underlying problem i believe is the ipi pipeline which would compete with the tapi pipeline and the israeli owned oilfields in turkmenistan
Sanctions are always the fiirst step of the war! The axes of evil (USA and Israel) first tries to make the victim defenseless by stopping them to obtain spare parts for their weapons of defense.
It makes it then easier to kill any defensive action and so-called "collateral damage".
And the corrupt mainstrean media are used for distributing the lies.

Disable NATO!
'Bomb Iran, Bomb Iran" – isn't that the Obama / American / Israeli agenda NO matter what Iran does or doesn't do? IF there ever was a nation that indeed needs a 'regime change' – it is the U.S.
We've met the real war mongering terrorists and it is U.S.!
The 'empire' wants only endless war.
Someone needs to divert the peoples rage that is growing murderous over their collapsing economies.
Iran won the prize as “most eligible” target for misdirection.
Not true. We have been threatening Iran with war… In fact encouraged and helped support Saddam's war with Iran…. Since they kicked the Shah out
Israel is always promoting war somewhere.
It was never about the threath of Iran obtaining the nuclear bomb. It was and is as always about Iran not falling in line with Washington's dictacts. it is about not having a compliant puppet administration in Iran as Washington has in the rest of the Middle East. Sadam tried to be his own man, and look what that got him! Fortunately the Iranian people have hundreds of years of experience in the politics of survival. They make the upstarts look loke bumbling idiots.
Correct… They don't care about the nukes. It is just an excuse. Full spectrum dominance
Keep this in mind:
“Within the Middle East, Iran is the undisputed top holder of gas reserves. Its South Pars gas field is the world’s largest. If converted to barrel-of-oil equivalents, Iran’s South Pars would dwarf the reserves of Saudi Arabia’s giant Ghawar oilfield. The latter is the world’s largest oilfield and since it came into operation in 1948, Ghawar has effectively been the world’s beating heart for raw energy supply. In the soon-to-come era of natural gas dominance over oil, Iran will oust Saudi Arabia as the world’s beating heart for energy”.

1- Why Iran” …, the plan that Paul Wolfowitz and his gang of warmongers back in 1990s presented was based on two thing…, “now that Russia communism is no longer there US is able to act alone”. Second “ now that US is the only militarism power in the world then they can attack whoever and wherever when it comes to Middle East and let the income from these countries (Oil resources) pay for their rebuilding later in time”. meanwhile the US will occupy these countries for now and or if they can for ever…, this idea has been around since WWII and US militarism have bases in many countries from Europe to Japan and from South America to South Korea.., moreover, the US never hade any military bases in Middle East.., the last base belonged to the English with around 1000 royal Air force and Marines Etc. the base location was in Dubai.., a British colonial – Arab Emirates until 19970s.., however, the English left the base back then…,
2- now NATO is in Afghanistan and Turkey and Iraq is occupied by the US militarism regime and US has permanent bases from Kuwait to the horn of Africa so what is left for US and EU is to weaken those whom they would attack and occupy down the path…, as they did to Iraq for 14 years before attacking it and as they lied regarding Iraq WMD…, nonetheless, they will do anything in their power to do the same regarding Iran Nuclear.
3- therefore.., idiots as communists and those who think that WWII is finished are those who think that NATO is doing a humanitarian work in Afghanistan and Iraq has been freed from a dictatorial regime and Israel is not a apartheid regime but rather the only democracy in middle east. Having said that.., the modernized version of communism is nothing but a system in opportunism. If these people only could and be able to define the word (democracy) and its social principals meaning.
4- Meanwhile Hillary Clinton and white house in charge needs to follow the path otherwise the Zionism deal wont go through…., and Hillary wont get paid to pay her due amount of wht she owes.
I thought this would be an interesting bell weather to see if Obama wanted an out to war or was bent on war no matter what. If he wanted an excuse to push away from war, this deal could have been a way to do that.
Instead they "angrily" come out against it. Seems war is what we will end up getting no matter what. Have to wonder if the deal we offered Iran to begin with using France as an intermediary, a country Iran has historical reasons to distrust, was designed as a deal we knew they would never accept.
I wonder how soon we start threatening the withdrawal of aid money that may have gone to Brazil for their uppity getting in the way of our stampede to war.
It's all Israel ant their power over this country. When the hell are we going to wake up. It's hard for me to stomach one more dead person because of these people.
The hypocrisy gets more and more blatant all the time. This time, it's "do what we say, or else… you're going to do what we say? No, wait: don't do what we say! We didn't say that! Or if we did we take it back! We didn't mean to say that!"
What does the rest of the world do when it becomes absolutely crystal clear that the US and Europe claim the right to decide who can and cannot have nuclear power? That the IAEA and the NPT are nothing but a sham?
Then the world does what Brazil and Turkey just did. They show the US and Europe a big middle finger, and tell us to go f*** ourselves. Nukes for everyone. Brazil next.
Guardian reports: "The sanctions will be targeted against the Iranian Revolutionary Guard – which has a business empire that includes hotels and other commercial projects, as well as a huge military complex – and Iran's financial institutions."
Targeting Iranian military themed hotels eh? That'll fix em. Just wait till those ……. try to get the new computer controlled fry-o-lator into their culinary arsenal.
So what exactly are these sanctions? This is the nearest thing I found:
http://www.treas.gov/press/releases/tg539.htm
If you want people to comply with your sanctions, you really need a more detailed document.
Robert Gibbs is the ugliest Amerikkkan pig I have ever seen.
The FedGov's ejaculation over the Turkey/Brazil deal with Iran was completely predictable. They will never voluntarily let go of their death grip on Iran until they have installed a compliant collaboration government in Tehran.
