Speaking today at a press conference in Brussels, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton rehashed the same claims about the NATO missile shield that haven’t been convincing Russia for the past decade, while insisting they will “press forward” on the scheme.
“This is not directed at Russia, it is not about Russia. It is frankly about Iran,” insisted Clinton. Such claims have not convinced Russia, which couldn’t help but notice that the bulk of the system is being built outside of Iran’s missile range, and much of it is positioned along the Russian frontier in eastern Europe.
Russian officials warned yesterday that the stalemate in talks could lead to a new Cold War-style nuclear arms race with NATO, as they scramble to position more weapons in the exclave of Kaliningrad to counter the missile capabilities.
The more pressing threat, however, came last week when Russia threatened to close their borders to NATO war supplies over the dispute. With Pakistan already blocking the southern border, Russia could effectively block all supplies from entering Afghanistan by land and leave some 140,000 NATO occupation forces relying solely on airlifts for supplies.
The new issue of the German magazine Der Spiegel reveals that the Russian NATO-Ambassador was in Washington. He asked: "If Mars people were to disarm Iran completely, would you still deploy the missiles in Bulgaria, Romania and Poland ?" They answered: "Yes, that will go ahead as decided." Well yea, that. But seriously it seems as though she goes around all over the world making ex cathedra pronouncements on her own. Don't the Secretary of State have to clear it with the president also? It just to me like Obama has let Hilary pretty much run the show all by herself.
I think the question may be asked differently. Is she in full control of the foreign policy, and the President has turned over that function into her exclusive domain. The answer is yes. According to a person employed at State Department at the time of her appointment, it was an understanding that there would be no interference in her policies. That must have been part of the pre-convention deal with Hillary.

Let's see, as I type this, the USraeli Empire is interfering in Russian internal politics, building a missile defense system just outside Russian borders (whose only logical purpose is to mop up after a first strike), inundating Russia with drugs from Afghanistan, trying to subvert neighboring states and bring them into NATO, etc., etc., etc. Put simply, the Empire is doing everything short of open warfare to destroy Russia as we know it, and it is all painfully obvious.
In light of this, I have to ask: What the hell is wrong with the Russians? Why don't they stop "threatening" to do something, and instead actually do something? Closing off the NATO supply routes would be a good start. Why continue to appease a monster intent on your destruction? There's no reasoning with bloodthirsty madmen, is there? They understand only force.

You would think that with all the financial problems the US and EU countries are having that starting a war with Russia would be the last thing on their minds, one would think. The reason they accept the missiles in Bulgaria, Romania and Poland is DOLLARS and so they imagine that Launch On Warning doesn´t exist and they themselves will be the first target. They pretend that everything is fine because of DOLLARS.
