Israeli officials have been ratcheting up their rhetoric in demanding that the world unite to stop humanitarian aid from being delivered to the people of the Gaza Strip, calling such attempts an existential threat to Israel and a “deliberate provocation” by the world.
While this hasn’t resulted in European nations or others stopping humanitarian groups from moving forward with the aid, it has shifted the Obama Administration’s position from opposition to open threats.
Now, the US State Department is not only railing against the flotilla as “irresponsible” but is threatening criminal charges against American participants, claiming that the attempt to deliver aid to Gaza amounts to “conspiring to deliver material support” to Hamas and could lead to lengthy prison sentences.
Gaza aid ships have often had a solid American contingent, and an American was among those killed when Israeli troops attacked the Mavi Marmara for attempting to deliver wheelchairs to the strip. Though the administration apparently believes it can invoke terror charges, it is unclear how eager they would be to actually test such a move in open court.
Just like with the Liberty. Washington does nothing to protect Americans from Israeli butchery.

The best way to make the minority thugs collapse is to (FLUSH THE TOILETS) 24 hours a day. When I was incarcerated on charges of terrorism it was crampy 3 person in each cell. We managed to reduce it to 2 persons in each cell by flushing the toilets 24/7 until the city residents complained from lack of water and blamed it on crowded prison. To threaten U.S. citizens with imprisonment for giving humanitarian aid to the people of the Gaza Strip violates our Constitutional rights to freedom of speech and association. The administration's kowtowing once again to the Israelis illustrates once more its lack of principle, to say nothing of moral fiber.

Can you try to distinguish between the perpetrators of terrorist acts and a civilian population that is in no way complicit in those acts? There are many innocent Gazans who are victims of an all-encompassing blockade imposed by Israel. The aid is humanitarian, not military!
Its not all-encompassing. It screens for weapons. As has been demonstrated several times, Iran and Syria are trying to send weapons to Gaza to kill Israelis, Jew or Arab.

Are you saying it's morally justifiable to collectively punish all Gazans for the acts carried out by a few? If so, then it must also be justifiable to punish all Israelis for the crimes against humanity carried out by their government. If you believe in collective punishment, why apply it only to Palestinians?

Depriving innocent women and children of basic necessities like food, clean water, clothing, shelter etc. while illegally occupying their land is a WAR CRIME and is also considered a crime against humanity. In other words by any internationally recongnized court of law Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinian people. And bye the way, under international law the People of Palestine have a LEGAL RIGHT to resist an occupying military force by any legal means available. And that includes returning rocket fire. But for the record in over 30 years, all those "thousands" of rockets fired against israel have only managed to kill a vew dozen people (pretty amazing just how bad they aim considering all the pratice they are supposed to of had) On the other hand, Israeli air strikes, rockets, motors and artillery fire have killed THOUSANDS of Palestinians.

There is no aid on these ships. There is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The UN and Red Cross have admitted this. There is no food or medical shortage atypical of a modern Middle Eastern city.
There was no aid on the other ships. Just a bunch of provocateurs, broken toys, and expired medicines that Hamas would not even allow into Gaza and stole what they did allow to resell.
How did the Afghan war help Israel? Israel and Afghanistan were not in any state of hostility.
