Just days after the Egyptian protesters attacked the state’s internal security headquarters and rescued reems of documents about Mubarak-era crimes that were about to be destroyed, some of the dirtiest such deeds are starting to come to light. And even for the notorious Mubarak regime, they’re surprisingly bad.
Sex tapes, documents detailing broad surveillance of Egyptian dissidents and transcripts of telephone conversations between the dissenters and their family members, sure, but the biggest of what has come out so far reveals something far worse: official government involvement in the Alexandria church bombing and in a 2005 resort bombing.
Its the sort of allegation that would normally seem too extreme to have any credibility, but they’re detailed in official documents as absolute facts. The Sharm al-Sheikh terrorist attacks of July 2005 were blamed on local Bedouins, but the documents instead reveal they were plotted by Interior Minister Habib el-Adly to target a business rival of Hosni Mubarak’s son Gamal.
That and the New Years Eve attack on the Coptic Church in Alexandria, which many were already speculating was an inside job (pointing to the lack of government interest in investigating a major attack) both appear to now be confirmed, at least assuming the documents are authentic (and all indications are that they are). The revelations will likely spark another call to move legally against regime leaders for their crimes.
"That and the New Years Eve attack on the Coptic Church in Alexandria, which many were already speculating was an inside job (pointing to the lack of government interest in investigating a major attack)"
Hmmmmm…..
Now where else in the world has that happened in the past I wonder?
Hmmmmmmmm……..Let me think…..hmmm…
The same story is in Pakistan all the agencies including CIA is doing the same to discredit Muslims and Islam and americans are worst thanb any other agency.
Same thing they did in Iraq. And Iran. And Palestine. And Lebanon. It doesn't end.
They blamed the Mosad, hence, when one of the famous Egyptian actors Adil Imam said the Israelis got nothing to do with the bombing of the church everybody turned against him. The bombing coincided with the same time of protest against the election fraud against the government which its members won most of the party seats. It was to distract people from the election fraud to sectarian distract. However, the Muslims & Christian did not start a civil unrest because they are becoming smarter than letting the government to divide them. I hope the perpetrators including the x misitry of interior get their sever puishment for great treason and get hanged by their balls.
news for you beeb, the security apparatus in Egypt was an extention of the mossad, so the mossad did it.
Worse than even I would have imagined…. But what we are seeing is the architecture, WHY such an edifice was constructed…..that is the easy to solve riddle no one wants to "get"…….. Someone should check if Raymond Davis was in Egypt the week of the church bombing……….
This is for those citizens who steadfastly believe that their government would never sacrifice citizens for their own nefarious purposes – and then lie about it.
Avi, the same thing immediately came to my mind. Parallels all over the place.
Ain't this something? I've always said that in order to know the truth of what is happening inside a country, watch and listen to the people, not the puppets that run it for they are all the same. So, it turns out that Mubarak himself was fueling the sectarian violence. How very Kosher. How very US. No wonder there hasn't been peace in the ME since they dropped that Kosher bomb in there. The people of Egypt should make Mubarak walk the plank. Maybe, when the dust settles, they too can file complains against Israel with the ICC. Heavens knows the US will veto it but at least, it adds some more wood to the fire.
I can't wait till they get to the ones detailing how Mubara's thugs attacked the protesters and blew up their own gas line in Mt. Sinai. Now, open up the border with Gaza already and let those poor people breathe.
Nothing new here except to repeat an often ignored object lesson about 'security forces' and the things they sometimes 'need' to do to maintain it. Just because these were Egyptians doesn't mean thw 'security mentality' is any diffetrent in more 'civilized' places. History has shown, over and over agiain it's not.
Makes you think about 9/11!
I' ve pretty much always suspected as much. The goal of this sort of thing was to create the impression that without Mubarak and his cronies holding back the tide of Radical Islam- Christians would be slaughtered en masse. Of course they did that.
And considering that US "Intelligence" trained these guys in their "techniques"- I have no trouble believing what I have also always suspected- that the US did many many such "attacks" in Iraq to stir up sectarian strife. That big Mosque that got blown up in 2007 in Iraq- the Shia Mosque? I said then- the US did it. And I'll bet anyone on that.
From the Guardian
"The 18-day uprising that toppled the president, Hosni Mubarak, on 11 February has left a security vacuum. Police pulled out of Cairo and several other cities three days into the uprising and have yet to fully take back the streets."
THANK GOD FOR THE SECURITY VACUUM!
The rule "Divide and conquer" was used by the US in Iraq. They knew it would have been impossible for American forces to confront a united Shia-Sunny in Iraq, so they had to force a civil war there.
I wonder if the bombing of Churches in Iraq and Pakistan was a job of Blackwater or other US entities whom are paid by state department and supported by Hillary Clinton to do just that.
Israel, US, EU will see to it that this killings well never end.., as long as people are not united and don’t confront the slave master (US-EU) the master is laughing at its work and call himself civilized, a church going and law biding citizen who only do wrong things from Monday to Friday before attending churches.., for the Iraqi government is from Saturday to Friday when they attend their mosques and pray to Ahmad Chalabi the thieve of Jordan now in Baghdad.
